I just needed a super cheap tripod that was light and small to pack around, but would still elevate my phone a reasonable distance off the ground. I was dubious on how the quality for the price would be, but I've been pleasantly surprised. I've been using it pretty steadily for a couple of months outside and indoors for holding my phone and it's been great. (You do need to buy a phone holder separately.) For under $20 it's been a fantastic deal. it's small enough that it drops into my pack, and light enough that I don't notice it's there at all. Again, it's fantastic for the price. 5-stars for the utility to price ratio. It's not 5-star performance, If you need super durability and smooth adjustability you need to pay up for that, but if you just need a quick, cheap tripod to hold a phone this thing is great. The bag that comes with it is decent too and has held up fine. There's room enough in the bag that I can toss in my phone gripper mount along with the tripod. ... show more

    • Seven years old & still going strong

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this seven years ago & it’s still a nice light weight Tripod. The video I uploaded is the tripod setup with my Nikon D5300, with a Nikkor AF-S 18-300mm DX series lens (very heavy lens), my camera backpack used as a stabilizing weight, being used on a moving ship Pride of America sailing around the Hawaiian islands. I purchased this for a similar trip that we enjoyed six years ago. The good: it’s light weight, easy to setup, very flexible, & fairly easy to pack in luggage for travel. It seems stable enough & has numerous adjustment capabilities. As I stated earlier it is being used on a cruise ship underway, & it hasn’t even tipped even though we are sailing on moderately choppy water. This tripod is versatile, & was used to take a picture of my wife & I earlier today, with a remote shutter control with a Kauai backdrop in the background. The trade off of this Tripod is that it is light weight. if you are someone who expects a heavy duty tripod this probably isn’t for you. Don’t get me wrong this is a nice tripod, but if you are a professional & you need something heavy duty then you should consider something else. If however you are an amateur photographer who needs a light weight tripod, this is something you should seriously consider. Now the only negative thing I can say about this is I accidentally pulled one of the leg extensions out w/o flipping out the release. I thought I had damaged this beyond repair but with my wife’s help & my ability to get the part aligned correctly it works just fine but that leg is a little stiff. (But this in no way is anyones fault but mine) it still works & I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants/needs an inexpensive tripod with many features, (that is even repairable on the fly) that will support a modest weight camera & lens combination. I would buy this again. If you are a beginning photographer, or a seasoned veteran photographer, & want a light weight tripod you should seriously give this a try. You really can’t go wrong at this price. (One thing to keep in mind if you have a camera/lens combination that is more than six lbs you may need a heavier tripod.) ... show more

I like this tripod, but only because it meets my three requirements: * Light weight * Compact * Cheap I am not using this for a camera and removed the head (which is not great as far as tripod heads go, but for the price I wouldn't expect much more). It's not very rigid, so stuff is going to move around. I bought it to support an AlexLoop ham radio magnetic loop antenna, and it does. If it wiggles in the breeze, I don't care. It packs up small and fits in the water bottle pocket on my backpack, and I like the little bag it comes with. Overall, it's pretty flimsy so be careful with it. It’s great for the price if you need a cheap tripod to beat up but if you want a sturdy tripod, this is not for you. I toss this in my travel bags because it’s light and fits well but I don’t expect it to hold ready with my heavier lenses on

    • Solid for a lightweight. HATE the mounting plate.

Pretty solid for a tripod in this class (not heavy duty parts). Adjustments seem solid, decent height, and the head adjustments stay put with little "camera drop" after you tighten them. You don't have to point the camera up 10° to get it to settle where you actually want it. Pleasant surprise. Just a tad too large to toss in a smaller backpack. But I hate (hate hate) the mounting plate. It stays on the camera, so the quick release means you have a wobbly base on your camera that can block the battery door. I like to Velcro my lens cap to the bottom of the camera (great top) but now I can't. I would have returned it because of this and looked for one with the standard screw mount, but I needed it past the 30 days. It's good quality, but that plate will grind my gears every time I use it. ... show more
