I need to frame this recommendation for you. I have a sleek car (Audi A7) with not much in the way of angles or places to catch anything. A few days ago I was pulling out of a parking lot onto a highway that has two lanes in each direction with a posted speed limit of 45 mph. It was lunch time on a sunny day, lots of traffic. I got up to around 45 mph and heard a thump, looked in my rear view mirror and saw something brown bounce off the hatch lid and onto the road. I knew immediately it was my Kindle! I’d put in on the roof of my car as I was loading things into it and drove off. I had to go a half mile or so up the road to be able to turn around and then over a mile to turn back around. I made five different passes looking for it - really upsetting a lot of other drivers as I did so. I was just about to give up on it when I saw something in the middle of the road between the two yellow lines that were just a few inches apart. I pulled off into a driveway and ran back, waiting until I had a break in the traffic and ran out and got it. I was amazed! The case was barely scratched and the Kindle was unmarked and working fine. I suppose it’s safe to assume that due to where it landed, other cars had missed it, but without a doubt it had hit the road surface at 45 mph! I’m certain that if I had no case or a crappy one, my Kindle would have been gone and likely in pieces. I’d post a picture of it but it would just look like a nice Kindle in a nice case, adding nothing to the recommendation. I can only say, you should buy one for your Kindle, it fits well and looks great, and if you’re stupid enough to drive off with it on top of your car, there’s a chance it’ll be ok. ... show more

I love this case. It fits perfectly and doesn't effect the balance of my Kindle. The microfiber inside protects the screen well. I love the feature of closing it to put the Kindle to sleep! It has hard plastic backing beneath the leather, so it's mostly pretty sturdy. The only thing that seems iffy is the crease or "hinge" area. It feels a little flimsy, although it is holding up well. Time will tell. I do think it's overpriced. Hopefully the price will come down soon. Overall, I am very pleased with this. ... show more

I loved the agave green color of my Kindle and didn’t want to hide it. This is a perfect match and shoes off the color while protecting my Kindle and making it more comfortable to hold. Extremely nice cover but the price is a bit high. If you can get it on sale or an open package, go for it!

In Amazon's pictures, this cover looks screaming fire-engine red, but it's actually a dull rust-red, almost purple. (See the photo.) For me that's a good thing. It's also smaller and lighter than previous Kindle covers I've had, another plus. Of course it grabs the Kindle in a vise-like grip and it turns the Kindle on and off when you open and close it. I use a wireless charger and it charges perfectly through the case. On the negative side it feels like hard plastic instead of leather but then, maybe it will wear better. ... show more
