Update: March 2022 - Funny reading my previous review now. All the cons I mentioned before, I literally don’t even notice at all. In fact, I like the chair I got so much I just got another in white. My boyfriend is using the old one and I needed one for my home office. And sadly, my cats did scratch up the black chair a little (the cats live outside now) but the chair has otherwise stood up to use perfectly. Other than the scratches, is basically like new. I do wish I knew of a good repair kit cause I would like to fix up the scratches. The chair is just extremely comfortable and supportive which I need even more these days for my home business. A very good purchase!! I just received my chair 2 days after ordering it. It took me about 20 minutes to put it together which was very easy. I am sitting in it now typing this review. Pros: -Very attractive. I ordered the black color and it appears just as in the pictures. -Slides smoothly over my linoleum floors. -Seat is soft and comfortable, hopefully it will stay that way over time, but too soon to tell. -Very easy to assemble. -The seat is good size for the average American and seems comparable in width to the chairs I use at work. Cons: -The chair does not lower as much as I wanted. I like my legs at a 90 degree angle when sitting. It is close with my shoes on, but about 2 inches to high. If I had known this, I very likely would not have ordered this chair as its one of my most important features for sitting comfortably. I am 5'6”. I hope that with a little wear the cushion will compress a bit, and if not I may get a small foot stool to solve the problem. -As others have described, this chair pretty much doesn't recline in any appreciable way even at the loosest setting. Basically to stay reclined you have to keep your legs pushing back the whole time which eliminates the point of reclining. I have read from others that over time, this loosens up. This feature is not very important to me, but may be to others. -The seat depth is about 2 inches shorter than I would like. Overall, I think it is a quality chair for the price assuming the above negatives aren't deal breakers for you. I will be keeping this chair since I do not spend a lot of time at my desk and the overall quality outweighs the few negatives for me. ... show more

This review was based upon needing a chair for remote teaching. I've been teaching for almost 2 decades in a science lab and never really sat down. However, now that we are alternating face-to-face and remote learning - this chair is HEAVEN! I was looking for lumbar support and cushion. I highly recommend it for the price! I recently had surgery and need to sit more during my remote sessions than previously. I now stand about 4 hours still doing demos and instruction at the board standing, but I also about 5-6 off and on throughout the day. I found myself sitting on the edge of my chair and slouching forward until this chair. I am 5' 6" and I can sit with my rear to the back of the cushion and my feet touch the floor. At the highest level they are a few inches off the ground, but I don't use that setting. However, if you had a higher table you could. There is a nice cushion under my knees and lumbar support so I can sit straight up, but feel comfortable. As another reviewer suggested - I have the reclining feature tight so it does not lean back, but you can easily change that with the turn of a knob under the seat. It provides support up to my shoulders - I do not need head support for the work I am doing. It alleviates the tension in lower back and the shoulder slouching. I'll have to update the review in 6 months to see how the cushion withstands the increased sitting time the rest of the school year as well as any wear and tear of the material. For now, I'd say this is an excellent purchase! As other viewers have mentioned, the assembly took about 20 minutes. They delivered to my school and they provided the Allen wrench. Although, if you had the electric driver, I'm sure it would have been faster. I did it old school and there were no issues. The instructions are straightforward - except for the arms. I should preface, they are marked 'L' and 'R'. I had even read another reviewer on here switched them. So, I was intentional about looking to make sure I did not do the same. I DID! After I put one of the arms on - I then noticed the letter on the arm...it's in the same color as the paint - it's an indention of the letter and until I tilted in the light (AFTER) I had attached it - I noticed it. The only tip I would give would be to look for the clearly marked stamps on the arm. This will save you time. Also, due to surgery, I had a hard time attaching the arms after it was on the pedestal (so I took it back off and assembled on the floor for better leverage). All of that being said, I assembled at the end of a long Friday - if you read the instructions carefully and look for the lettering on the arms - installation is easy! I definitely recommend and do not regret the purchase one bit. (I did notice the seat wobble at first, but that was because I need to take it off and put it back on the center pedestal - I had not installed all the way into the hole).
