I had tried other contoured pillows before and found them too hard or too high for my neck and head. This pillow is softer but has just the right amount of support and allows me to sleep well on my back but also on my side, big plus! It was a bit low, so at first I added a folded towel, then much to my surprise I found a note from manufacturer in the box that said to contact them if extra height needed, so I did and soon after I received an extra layer of foam to add to the liner.     • Not what I had hoped for.

I have trouble finding a pillow that I don't wake up in the mornings with my neck feeling like my wife beat me with a broom handle all night long. This is a Memory Foam pillow and every one that I have tried are firm, and this one is not any different. Firm is good for the rolls on each side but, the scalloped center is firm also, and your head sits on top of the foam and doesn't sink into it, and still puts your head at an angle that's not always comfortable, when you're on your back. I am a side sleeper and it's still out of proportion for me. This pillow does have a removable layer that can be removed and will lower the total height of the pillow, by approximately 3/4 inch. Also, you can buy an additional layer from the manufacturer if you need it to be taller. I am not a fan of the Memory Foam pillows, but I tried this one because of the removable layer. It does help me when I remove it, because I prefer a lower pillow height. Even though I don't care for this pillow, it is of good quality and the covers are very nice, I'm still sleeping on it, over a month with it now, because I've not found anything that I think would better, other than a latex pillow, which I am looking for. If you prefer a firm, taller pillow that can be changed with the extra layer, this may be the pillow for you, because we all don't sleep the same. ... show more

This pillow was not sturdy at all. I read over people’s reviews and I had hoped that the negative opinions were just that, however, upon receiving the pillow it was flat even after I let it deflate, it had zero sturdiness, flimsy and zero neck support. I need to say, whether you feel comfortable or not, it depends. For me, since I am used to use this kind of pillow, I feel so good about it. It helps me relieve my neck pain. I often feel my neck pain and suffer from insomnia, my sleep quality is particularly poor. I searched for several methods to solve this problem. My mom knows that and bought such a pillow for me, and it really help a lot. I don’t like the pillows which are hard, so I use this kind of pillow for almost 8 years. My pillow is broken, so I need a new one. This one is just what I want. It’s soft and helpful for me. Just as I said, it depends. My girlfriend doesn’t like it at all. She complained that this kind of pillow is too uncomfortable to fall in sleep. She used it once, and feel more neck pain the next day, so she really does not want it. And she likes normal pillows, which is not soft enough for me. So be sure to think about it before you buy it. If you are used to the normal pillows, if you want to try, you may want it. I have had pillow problems for about 3 years. I have been having migraines and I am a sleeper. Therefore, I need a pillow that is strong but soft around my neck so that it does not put pressure on my head and does not put pressure on my head. In the past three years, I have purchased at least 20 different pillows. After a few weeks, and then lay flat, some pillows simply cannot be used. I have left this pillow for 2 days, until, I have always liked it. It greatly supports my neck and there is no pressure on the top of my head. I lay down and fell asleep. This is the first time in 3 years. I stayed up all night and didn't turn my back. Update in a week to see if this pillow can withstand the test of time! ... show more

I have a big ole potato head and am a big tall guy with broad shoulders, and I am a side sleeper. This is firm enough for me, it's firmer than most other memory foam pillows. That's honestly not saying a lot since memory foam pillows are by nature super soft. I have a very sensitive nose and so the smell can be an issue with me with memory foam pillows for the first several days. There was not a lot of smell, I opened it and smelled it and there was a little bit of smell, much less than any other pillow. But still, I let it sit out all day on the dining table. When I went to bed and put a pillow case on it, there was no smell at all. Good job there. My only complaint is, I wish it were MUCH higher up. I am a big guy with wide shoulders and a potato head, and I only sleep on my side. I wish it were a lot higher, and also I wish the curve were deeper. But honestly, no pillow has ever been high up enough for me. This is lower down than most memory foam pillows I have tried. But it's not a huge issue, I can still sleep OK on it. It does sleep lower than other memory foam pillows, even accounting for the firmer density. Your head still sinks down, it's firmer than most any other memory foam pillow but still softer than the very softest down pillows. Overall a good product and worth the price. YMMV if you are a big ole potato head. ... show more
