  • Very satisfied - Works as advertised, Extremely useful. Without issue 6+ months now.
Size: 53QT
Great performance for the cost compared to competitors. The quality really seems to be here, several other reviews of previous versions of this model can be found on youtube from folks who have had basically this alpicool unit for OVER 4 years and zero issues - so we too pulled the trigger. We have been using this for 6+ months now without any issues or complaints... just praise. It sits in the back of our SUV and we use it while grocery shopping as it allows to keep the essentials - like Ice Cream - frozen until we get home. Our drive is on average about 40+ min from home to the stores so this has been a wonderful change for us. It has also given us the flexibility to stop after shopping and go into a restaurant for dinner and such. We use the 115v adapter that comes with it (also comes with a 12v adapter if you only have that in your vehicle) while plugged into the back of our vehicle (which has a built in inverter). We do not have this on a "always on" battery or connection so when we turn the car off, it turns off. This has NOT been an issue even when we go in to eat at a restaurant for up to a couple of hours. We have done this several times on the hot summer days and after having the unit already be at 5F or so when we stopped the car and when we return its usually around 40-50F or so and cools right back down very quick. We use all the features listed on this - from the echo cool mode to the max cool which can rapidly cool the unit from 85F to -5F in less than 20 min on max cool. We change it via their bluetooth app when we drive in to do grocery shopping. Although the divider lets us split compartments to do freezer and fridge on opposite sides we have found that for the most part we take out the divider and just use it all as a freezer or fridge depending on what we get. If we don't do this some of the larger items such as steaks and meat packages do not fit. We have been very happy with this purchase and have recommended this to several of our friends. It has really helped change how we do grocery shopping since we live a ways out from the stores. ... show more

  • Didn't power on at first.
Size: 63QT-LG Version
I bought this for the small living quarters in my horse trailer that we take way off grid. It sat on the porch in the box for about a month until I got around to it so it was out of Amazons return policy. Well, it is much bigger than the full size cooler I was using and would not fit in the spot I use. With a little creative re arranging all was good at this point. First off, I power the quarters with 2 100 watt solar panels and 2 12 volt deep cell marine batteries and a 1000 watt inverter for the coffee maker, flat screen, microwave, laptop, etc. When I first plugged it in the panel light came on and went out quickly and when the power button was pushed it just beeped. This happened with both the power supplies. I could not find anything in the manual which is pretty basic, but there is a wealth of info on YouTube just nothing on powering it up or the power supply. I was concerned when both the contact phone numbers in the manual were disconnected so I contacted the manufacture by email and hoped for the best. Then just for fun I down loaded the app and went back down to the corrals where I park the trailer and tried to pair the cooler with my iPhone. I plugged the cooler in, the control panel flashed and went out then it paired and I pressed the on/off button in the app on my iPhone and the cooler powered right up and has been working flawlessly now for about a week with or without my phone. I put some beer in the refrigerator part and left it over night. The next day the beers were cold (very very cold). So here is how the test went. I check it morning and night when I feed and in the evening there is always a nice cold beer for my wife and I so this makes the test fun. This cooler has worked continuous for about a week without draining the batteries past what the solar panels can keep charging even with one cloudy day in there. It will be even more energy efficient when it is full and what a relief to not have to be continually to deal with ice. Now to my surprise I heard back from the manufacture in an email within 24 hours with a return shipping label no questions asked. I will keep the cooler. Up Date: It has been about 1 year and it still works great and it is so nice to have a freezer for extended off the grid stays. I did find when you plug in to my power inverter using the AC cord my batteries discharged very quickly so using the 12volt plug is the best for conserving energy and my solar panels will recharge what is used every day. ... show more

  • Perfect for me
Size: 53QT
I recently used this product for a 10-day vacation involving a 1200 mile round-trip road trip. It's reasonably easy to move around (all compressor-type portable fridges are a bit heavier than the plate-cooler type but the cooling is stronger and better regulated so it's worth it) works well on 12-volts in the car. It holds a reasonable amount of fresh and frozen food and seems to hold and separate the thermostat temps in both compartments. I consider it a medium-capacity fridge -- as it's described on the Amazon website -- but it works well and the sound level is lower than most other portable fridges I've seen. I consider this a good buy. ... show more
