  • Very portable and easy to use
We bought this as a backup power source for our small generator of the same brand. They charged the generator really quickly, they're much smaller and lighter than our roof solar panels, therefore super portable. Very easy to use, appear to be high quality, not sure about durability as they won't expect rough use from us, and their customer service is top notch. ... show more

  • Awesome purchase.
I used this a couple of times now and it works great. I have a sleep apnea machine and it’s always been a struggle camping in a tent but now with this set up no longer a issue because I have power. I was able to charge my 2 phones and I pad as well as run my sleep machine with no issues. I also would recommend the solar panel. It kept the portable battery fully charged. This is slick set up and I think everyone should have it, especially when life happens and you need get out of a jam. My first thing I pack when camping. ... show more

  • Good source of emergency power as long as there's sun.
This is a set of 3 solar panels connected together that fold up into something that looks like a portfolio. I gave it a test on the absolute worst day for solar, January 1 when the sun is very low in the sky. It was about 2pm and clear skys. My "portable solar power station" reported it was charging at about 26 watts. Yes, that's not the advertised 60 but this time of year you can't really expect that. I have another set of panels that were giving out a similarly reduced amount in today's sun. To get maximum power make sure the panels are facing the sun at the same angle and turn them as the sun moves through the sky. If you're not getting enough sun for max power, you can use some simple aluminum foil reflectors to boost the amount of sun you're getting. The panels are encased in a nylon cloth which is very sturdy and makes them easy to fold up. There are built in kickstands you can use to get the right angle to the sun. There is also a pouch on the side which is big enough to hold all the cables and accessories. It has a nice rubber handle that is easy to grip and some nylon loops in case you want to hang it from something to keep it off the ground. There is a charge controller built in so you can directly plug in USB-C or USB-A devices or you can plug the direct DC cable into any device with the right connector, they supply 10 different adapters and an MC 4 cord so you should have no problem getting hooked up. The only thing it's not setup to do is directly charge a car battery. To do that you would need to get an external charge controller and set of battery clips. There is a bit of confusion about water, there is a picture in the ad showing "waterproof" but in other places they say to not get it wet. So it's probably best to keep it out of the rain. This would be great for RV or car camping to provide extra power, at 7 pounds it's a bit heavy to take on a hiking trip. Unless you plan to be out in the wild for a long time, taking several power banks would probably be lighter. Also even though it weighs 7 pounds it will get blown over by the wind so you have to be careful on windy days. While these are great for emergency power, you still need sun! I can remember times when we lost power for several days due to bad storms, but stormy weather means clouds and clouds means no sun! There are going to be times when you need power and can't get it from solar so it's always good to have some charged power banks and a hand crank generator, just in case! ... show more

  • Super handy folding solar panel kit with great build quality
I ordered this ALLWEI 60 watt portable solar panel kit to carry my motorhome to charge my DC/AC power bank, a Hulkman jumpstart battery pack, and other devices I carry when I'm boondocking (camping without hookups). Upon opening it I was immediately impressed with the thoughtful design and build quality of this solar panel kit. It looks like it will last a very long time. The material seems very rugged, and everything is sewn and put together very well. It has high quality velcro, with three kickstands on the back. It's very lightweight and easy to transport/store when folded up, and very easy to unfold and deploy. Most of the time I'll just be using the "welded" DC cord, which stores in a Velcro pocket, but it comes with an extra DC cable, and a cable with M4 connectors. Also included are adapters that I imagine should adapt it to just about any power bank made. I put the panel out in my backyard when the sun came out for a few hours today. I plugged in my power bank, that was about three-quarters charged, and in very short time it was fully charged. The solar panel apparently has a built-in controller, and it was only feeding as many watts as the unit needed. The highest it would feed was around 12 Watts, then it was down to 10 and 6 and when it was fully charged it was at 0. In the description there's some conflicting claims about whether this is waterproof or not. I see that it says it is waterproof, then in the questions they answered that it is not waterproof, and you should not get it wet. The instruction sheet also says the junction box is not waterproof, so do not get it wet. I suspect it should be called water-resistant, and it's probably safe to carry a short time in the rain folded up, but do not leave it outside in the rain. That doesn't bother me, as this is not the kind of panel I would leave outside in the rain anyway, as I do with some metal framed solar panels that are completely waterproof. A large velcro pocket is where the controller/junction box is, and it has a type C, DC, and USB receptacle, in addition to the welded cable with a standard DC connection. All of the cables and adapters can be stored in the pocket as well. So I am super pleased with this folding solar panel kit, and I think this would be an excellent gift as well. Not only great for motorhome camping, tent camping, or backpacking, but great to have around the house in case of a power failure! ... show more
