I wanted a 12k Watt genny but didn't want to spend over $1000. So for months, I research, shopped all the sites, researched, shopped... and then one late night I searched Amazon for a 12k watt generator and hit on this flash deal at under $800. We'll I jumped. It was supposed to take 3 months to be delivered, which would have put us at the mid point of hurricane season here in N Cent FL. But, it arrived in just 3 weeks. With the $$ we saved we bought a Gen power switch, outside 30A wall plug and had enough left over to hire an electrician to hook it all up! This baby fires right up, runs our well pump, 2 refrigerators, a 12k btu window ac, a TV, lights, etc (everything but our 4.5ton cent ac). If you plan on using propane for this unit, you can run it off a propane bottle, and pay 3X as much as the house propane, or you can hook it up to your house tank. However, you may find that the regulator on your house supply is not sufficient to run the generator. If the generator starts on the house propane, but immediatly dies, it is not getting enough BTUs of gas. The pressure is not the issue, it is the volume of gas that is the problem. You will need to tap onto the gas line BEFORE it enters the regulator for your house supply. "T" off the line above the valve, and add another valve for the branch. You will need to purchase adapters for connecting to the 3/4" pipe. I purchased from propanewarehouse.com. Then you can use the generator supplied regulator and hose to fuel the generator. ... show more

    • Tried to keep it on but kept dying on us during a time it was cold outside

Started up easily at first, but would not stay on. Kept dying after about an hour or so. Then, successively shorter periods repeated hundred of time until would not even turnover. Our old very small generator at least ran the refrigerator and a few lights. Had an expert set it up and another electrician make repeated trips to try and keep it going custung us hundreds of dollars. Finally, he said it had a faulty sensor that kept it from running and must return it. ... show more

What a Great Purchase! It took about 4 trips to HD to get all of the wire, plugs, boxes and a 50 Amp breaker. Installed everything this afternoon. Shut off the power to the house at the main, plugged it in and had power to my whole house...including AC!

My generator was delivered on time and it was pretty simple to unbox and assemble there is one major problem if you intend to use propane with this generator. The connection for the supplied propane hose and regulator is blocked by the frame. See attached picture📸 . Otherwise it started up right away on gas both with the electric start as well as the recoil.
