  • A couple heads up if you are installing the awning yourself.
Size: 13 x 8 Feet Color: Gray Fade
First don’t do this without help. Find a couple online videos and follow their hints. Use marker to identify the placement of the pull, awning valance and main fold. Take photos. The size is complicated. I needed a 12’ and a couple inch wide awning, a 13’ foot awning is maybe 12’4”. So be careful reading and buying. Replace the pull ribbon even if you think you like your old one better. Use round and flat files the chamfer the lead edges of the mounting grooves. This is to keep the awning from being cut as you install. Most times you will need large pop rivets to re- install the springs. Pop rivets are not part of the kit. Installation took 1 hour with two inexperienced men. ... show more

  • Watch install video before you attempt!
Size: 10 x 8 Feet Color: Blue Stripes
This awning is a great replacement for my worn out original. I recommend watching several YouTube videos before attempting install. You will need at least 1 helper. I found the biggest tip that was helpful was to wipe out the old track and apply white lithium grease to the channel so the new awning slides into place easily. You will most likely need to drill new rivet holes so get yourself a rivet gun and rivets as well. You will need a drill to remove the rivets on the roller tube, a few screw drivers, a razor blade, a pair of pliers, 3/8 socket, 11mm socket and wrench, 1/4 inch socket, white lithium grease with straw in the can, silicone to recoat the awning screws to reattach the awning, at least 1 6' latter, and someone to hold and guide the awning into the track while you pull. When installing I found the hardest part was the secondary rod was hard to get in the track. I trimmed the end of it to a point to get it started. I lubed the awning after pressing it into place with the squeege so the plastic rod slid easier and after it was 1/2 way in I had to grab the end and push it in inch by inch because it gets really tight. I installed my awning by myself and it was very difficult. With a couple of helpers, all the tools available, and following the instructions on line you can accomplish it without taking it in to the rv store. My awning was only 10 feet. Any longer than that and the tracks are going to be tighter on the end of the slide and the lubercation will be essential. ... show more

  • Lasted just under 3 years of occasional use
We purchased this just 3 years ago. The material is strong, we never had a tear. The sizing was off half to one foot of what it should’ve been, like other reviewers have mentioned, and it was not mentioned in the specs or listing details. It took 3 young men plus a more experienced “supervisor” and a couple women helpers all day to get it installed (including about 10 YouTube videos). Hoping this next time we can beat that time. Despite these issues, we got it on and working. Our biggest issue is with the seam closest to the rv. The 2 previous awnings were double-seamed at this end to add extra strength, but this one only had one seam. The material used on the seam was nowhere near the quality of the awning itself, which held up great. The seam unfortunately gave at one end and then the other, and finally all along the center (think: hanging gap over the rv door). We tried several things to reinforce and fix it ourselves, but nothing held. After just under 3 years of occasional use, this one gave. To give it some perspective, our previous one had a tear we had fixed a few times before we finally replaced it, but it lasted 8 years. It’s a shame too because it still looks brand new if it wasn’t for that seam ... show more
