Description

There’s nothing like heading out to the patio on a sunny summer day, and an awning can help make sure you don’t get overheated as you enjoy your yard. With an ALEKO wind-sun sensor, you don’t even have to be in your yard for your awning to extend and retract; the sensor will recognize when the sun is out and when it’s not, and will extend or retract your awning accordingly. Use our wind-sun sensor with your ALEKO DM45R awning motor, which is sold separately on its own or paired with one of our retractable awnings. An awning is a big investment, and you don’t want to risk it getting damaged during a period of particularly high winds. The sensor also keeps track of wind force and will automatically retract your awning if the day is getting too windy, so you can put your mind at ease. Try ALEKO’s awnings and accessories, and you’ll wonder how you kept your yard together without them! Requires wired-in connection to DM45R awning motor and 110V AC, 60 Hz power; Comes with mounting hardware.

  • Super Easy To Setup, Once You Figure It Out.
You will see good and bad reviews for this item. It is not a bad product, just misunderstood. The instructions included could be a lot better, and the sensor does NOT come with a cord. Mine had a 230v sticker on it as well, which led to more confusion, and i ordered a 110 to 220 converter as well (it was not needed). I attched a cord as seen in the pics. When you plug it into the wall, the led blinks 2 times and does not stay lit (its not supposed to stay lit). The absolute simplest way to program the sensor to the motor for me was as follows. 1. Have your remote for the motor handy, take off back cover. 2. Extend the awning a bit or all the way with the remote, it dose not matter how far. 3. Unplug awning for at least 10 seconds. 4. Plug in motor and sensor into 110 connection, you will hear a beep from the motor and sensor led will blink twice. 5. Within 6 seconds of the beep click program button on the remote two times. You will hear a beep confirmation. 6. Click the program button on the sensor, you will hear a beep. Its done. 7. To confirm the programing, click up button on sensor and awning will roll back. You should program the sensor to the motor first and then mount it. Thank you Aleko for the quick shipping and quickly answering my questions. ... show more

  • Tricky programming follow the you tube video
Once programmed unit works well. There is a time delay of several minutes before the awning activates on open. Closing on wind is quite a bit faster. Would buy again.

  • Aleko Wind-Sun Sensor for Retractable Patio Awning
Excellent product! We ordered the retractable (motorized) awning from Aleko. Then decided we wanted to order the Wind-Sun Sensor which will close the Awning if winds are too high and open to provide shade from the sun. The shipping time was quicker through Amazon but, priced the same. The Aleko products are priced very well. The quality of their items are excellent. The directions assumes that the installer is mechanically inclined based on some reviews I have read related to lack of directions for installation. However, we found that it was not a complex install for the awning and/or Wind-Sun Sensor. ... show more

  • Works by itself, but not with another remote controller. One or the other only.
The sensor works OK so far, but the instructions say that it can be programmed to work in conjunction with the remote that comes with the motorized awning. This is not true. You can only program one or the other to control the motorized awning, but not both. I tried all of the different instructions written by other reviewers on this site, and none of them worked. Every time you program one of the controllers properly, it causes the program mode to end. The receiver will not remember either controller, until you finish all the steps needed to program each controller. If you then try to program the second controller, it erases the information from the first controller. One or the other. That’s it. ... show more

  • The worst possible quality you can buy
I bought this product with the full owing that it controls for over $1100, and it was so difficult to install that I had to hire three people to do it. It broke within a week, and the quality is terrible. It's like a child's toy. Too weak. Don't waste your money. You'll thank me later.

  • not as advertised
Instructions are complete garbage, finally got it to sink with my remote by doing the exact opposite of what it says to do. Wind will make it go up but the dawn to dusk feature does not work.

  • Works with 2018 Advaning Classic Series!!! 2018
We installed an Advaning Classic motorized awning in 2018. I have spent years looking for a wind sensor to close my awning should the wind pickup. No luck until now,,, The Aleko pairs easily with my existing remote.

  • Great product.
I am still working on dialing in the wind setting so I have to say it works almost too good! Extends and retracts the awning as advertised and will stop mid extension and retract if the wind picks up.
