this is probably the best natural shampoo i’ve used. other shampoos that i’ve used with no sulfates or parabens would leave my hair heavy, oily, and visibly greasy (i have naturally straight hair, so it is very noticeable). i’ve found it works best for my hair when i shampoo twice and really make sure to get all of it out. the mint smell is really nice and leaves my hair feeling soft. my only complaint is that after i wash it out, it makes my hair feel “squeaky” clean. but as soon as my hair is dry, it goes away ... show more

I was drawn to the Alaffia products because of their ingredients and the mission they are tied to. We have tried several. This shampoo definitely feels thick, lathers well, and leaves our hair feeling literally squeaky clean. I also love being able to pump it, and the lavender smell is great (but coconut is my fave). My only reason for giving it four stars is simply because you have to really ensure you rinse very well. Because it is so thick, I’ve noticed it takes a little extra effort. They are not transparent on their products whatsoever, they list fairly decent ingredients on Amazon and upon arrival gross ingredients. Since using this product my hair is either dry or very oily and my head burns sooo badly. I cannot NOT recommend this product!! No not buy. It is not clean. I also reached out to their customer service and they claim it’s Amazon’s problem, not theirs and we should reach out to them for a solution. Very disappointed in their product and customer service 👎👎👎Horrible ... show more

I love love love the brand and what they stand for! I can get behind a great natural shampoo that employs people, helps people, I won't go on a rant about that any further but I encourage you to check it out for yourselves! At first it was hard to adjust to natural shampoo. It definitely doesn't leave your hair silly soft while your washing it but it's kinda cool that your hair feels squeaky clean. Literally. It took me 2 weeks to head to the Mothers Market and purchase the conditioner. Again, it's not like a regular shampoo so your hair won't be silly but it will be squeaky clean. I have oily straight short hair so maybe that is how it works on me. I use a frizz creme for when I dry my hair and it becomes a lil softer. The brand mentions that every batch is different so I will come back to review the next bottle I purchase. Also, I share the shampoo with my kids. They are 4 and 6. They can handle it and we are careful not to get it on their faces. The lavender scent is a plus because we do shower and bathtime before bed so I hope it kinda helps lure them to relax. ... show more
