Upfront Disclosure: I received this item through the Amazon Vine program for review. I have a standard poodle and she is an amazing dog. Seriously, I have had standard poodles all my life and this one has a remarkable temperament compared to all my other ridiculously good poodles in the past. Poodles do have issues with their ears and I have to clean them fairly regularly or problems will develop. I have used several products in the past and they all work more or less the same in my experience. This one is particular good for flushing out her ears gently. It is not a leave in product like some. Drop it in and massage it to the base of the ear, let them shake and then wipe out the dirt/debris/wax/etc. It works nicely and seems to be a very good product on my sweet poodle (with her very sensitive skinned). ... show more

It seems to work, but it is messy and nasty. Don't stand in the splash zone after using this or you will get sprayed with yucky slime from the dog shaking its head

    • Needed for my Pyrenees
On our small farm we like to run Great Pyrenees dogs to protect our chickens. About the only drawback on the Pyrenees is their susceptibility to ear infections. I lost one to an bad infection we didn't catch in time and almost lost another. We've found that clipping the hair in the ears in the spring and giving the ears a good cleaning can make all the difference. This solution should help make that job a bit easier. We have been using rubbing alcohol, but we are meticulous in using just enough to dampen the cotton. It will be nice to have one less concern. We'll also finish with an ear drying powder. This worked well to help remove the dirt and wax from my dog's ears. This product can reach deeper than the wipes and helps to break down the wax. Hasn't caused any issues with my dog.

My old cattle dog is a fan for once. I've tried cleaning her ears many times over the years, it's always been a chasing scene around the house. I tried this and she didn't move . . . she actually liked it. It's easy to dispense on to the ear. Then I drop a cotton ball down the ear and massage the base of the ear. She literally enjoyed that. Wipe out the ear with the cotton ball and you have clean dog ears! I got this because it does BOTH cat's and dog's ears. I did both my cats' ears and I want to say they enjoyed the process, but surprise . . . they did not. However, I'm very happy with the results. I got this for my little fur baby since they are low to the ground and frequently acquire dirty ears, which they paw at continuously. This is a very mild formula that is also really effective. It has a thin, watery consistency and is slightly blue in hue. I noticed a little minty aroma, but it was not overpowering. My dogs don't love having their ears cleaned, but this was simple to use and took much less time because it cut down the dirt and wax so rapidly. ... show more

I ordered this for my miniature dachshunds; being low to the ground also means they often get very dirty ears and they tend to paw at them constantly. This is a very mild formula, yet very effective as well. It has a thin water-like consistency and is slightly blue in color. I did notice a faint minty scent but it wasn't overwhelming. My dogs don't particularly enjoy getting their ears cleaned, but this was easy to use and the whole process took much less time because this broke down the dirt and wax very efficiently. Followed the directions exactly and the dogs shook their heads and I finished cleaning their ears with cotton balls and Q-tips. Everything came out easily and they weren't pawing at their ears afterwards. They did take turns smelling each other's ears, probably because of the minty scent lol. Overall this ear cleansing formula is a gentle cleanser that works great for my dogs and there's been much less ear pawing and head shaking since. Highly recommend! ... show more
