Features

  • Food composters transform food scraps and kitchen waste into powder by drying it out and grinding it up. You can use this powder as fertilizer for your plants or throw it away to reduce the volume and odor of your trash.
  • More Reliable Blades: Our SHARKSDEN Trinity Blade are as sharp as a shark's teeth. With a blender that pushes food waste into the blades, it can crush large volumes of food from multiple directions.
  • Easy To Use and Clean: With a 2.5 liter capacity and one-button operation, you can compost several different types of waste at the same time with the simple press of a button. The bucket is made of cast aluminum, which is easy to clean and dishwasher safe.
  • Eliminate Garbage Odors: Instead of putting food scraps in the trash, dry them in a food composter to prevent the garbage smell from taking over your home. The odor-reducing biodegradable carbon filters help prevent smells in between composting cycles.
  • Quick Run Time: Collect food waste in the bucket throughout the day then turn on the machine before going to bed. After 4 hours your food scraps will be ground up and dried into powder so you can empty it out in the morning.

  • Excellent way to compost small amounts indoors
Color: Gray
It works exactly as described. I fill the bucket with food scraps (cutting up kale stalks, lemon rinds or celery into smaller pieces), and when it's done composting, there's around a cup or two of dried compost. Mine doesn't look like dark earth, but more like brown or golden humus. It has a smell while it's cooking, but that doesn't bother me at all because the container I keep the scraps in (waiting to fill the compost bin) smells far worse! Also my garbage doesn't stink anymore, and in the summer that was always a problem. You can use the composter in your garage or porch if the smell bothers you. The appliance is sturdy, heavy, and well made, simple to use. I've had it for a month and used it at least 5 times a week because I eat a lot of vegetables. I definitely recommend. ... show more

  • Practice Makes Perfect!
Color: Gray
We live in a rural mountain forest area without regular trash pickup, so we take ours to the dump. With bears, mice & snakes…..reducing smelly food waste storage in the garage between dump visits is essential. This little machine does the trick! We really have grown to love it! It’s pretty quiet and the smell isn’t bad at all (one exception, see below). It has been trial & error though, so here’s a few things I’ve learned. 1) it works best with a mixture of things. Too much of any one type of refuse can gum it up (for example….angel food cake turned to brick in there & froze up the grinder). 2) Anything with too much moisture really needs something very dry to offset it or it will run for hours (I was surprised how long it took to compost a bag of unused, wilted lettuce.). 3) It says you can put dairy in there but #2 comes into play. Also, I put a moldy block of Parmesan cheese……the stench was unbearable, and there was much oil in the bottom when done. Given the heat of this thing, I won’t repeat that. 4) aside from the Parmesan incident, The smell isn’t bad at all generally (just slightly earthy usually). We do regularly add coffee grinds so that helps offset smell and I have a small air purifier nearby that I use when running the composter with anything I have a concern about (fish scraps, some cheese) just to be extra careful. It really isn’t needed with veggie scraps, chicken bones, and most leftovers though. 5). If you run into a problem the machine can “freeze up” ….even turning it on / off or unplugging/Re plugging doesn’t start it over. You have to hold the start button for several seconds to reset it, That info is NOT in the instruction manual or available online. I had to contact customer service to learn how to do that. Hope this helps, we feel like this was a great buy for us! ... show more

  • Good Quality and Quiet
Color: White
I have waited a month to review this, to see how it worked over time. So far I have no complaints. We bought this because we wanted to reduce to volume of our compost before adding it to our outdoor compost roller. During the winter, our outdoor compost will just sit and never reduce, so the roller would begin to fill up. I was skeptical about a company that I've never heard of, but the device feels sturdy. It's a little heavy, but manageable. All the parts feel sturdy, like they're not going to break soon. The only complaint I have is that the handle for the bucket pops out very easily, which can be annoying when transporting the finished compost to our outdoor composter. The device is fairly quiet while running. You can hear some crunching from the rotating arm moving through the compost, but it's not distracting. A full load seems to take about 4-5 hours and really reduces the overall amount of compost, as I showed in the Before/After pictures. The smell is not jarring but you can definitely smell a little bit of something while it's running - the most pungent was the smell of orange peels being warmed up; nothing off-putting. In all, I was nervous about trying this, especially at $300, but it's been what I wanted it to be. I would recommend it and, if it fails within the next year or two, I will update this to reflect that. ... show more

  • Silent, odor free, vegetable waste.
Color: Gray
repurposing vegetable waste to enrich my soil without a compost pile. This small (2.5 L) counter top machine is used daily to prepare food scraps for soil without fruit flies, odor , or mildew. Runs almost silently. This is not compost with living bacteria. But it will compost in the soil while adding to its tilth and keeping your food waste out of the landfill. If not fully dry, just run through cycle again. ... show more

  • Love my new toy
Color: Gray
I am very happy with my Airthereal composter purchased in early August. In addition to making me feel somewhat virtuous, it is very practical, easy to use, easy to clean, not bad looking, pretty quiet when running and the result is remarkably light and dry. A few of my thoughts: I typically run it in the garage. Depending on what is in the composter, the odor varies but it is neither strong nor offensive. I just prefer not to have it in the kitchen. In the winter, I expect to do this only in daytime to avoid exposing the device to cold overnight temperatures. When the unit has completed a cycle, I bring it back indoors. I have consistently used only a dollar store paintbrush and a bamboo skewer to clean out the bucket in order to avoid scratching the interior surface before filling it with hot soapy water for a soak. This approach works very well for me. I bought a Blue Gingko food scrap pail bucket with a lid to accumulate scraps before transferring into the composter bucket. It is the perfect size as it holds 2.6L so I know when it approaches full it is time to run the composter. I often keep the scrap bucket outside the kitchen slider or in the garage when not actively in use so as to avoid fruit flies. I have taken to mixing the resulting material with ground soil and then using it to enrich the soil in some bare spots on my lawn. Am waiting to see how this works. I do have one complaint - as soon as I received it, I went online to the Airthereal website to register my new toy. I was interested in having the additional warranty period. However, there was absolutely no way to prove that I did this. I did not receive an email confirmation or anything that I could use to show that I had registered my composter. Very odd. I highly recommend this composter. ... show more
