  • Perfect for my urban garden
Color: Orange
All the vegetable scraps no longer go to the trash but in the tumbler. I put it on my side terrace (second floor apartment). I first poured in some soil and then began adding in the scraps. I tumbled the mix every day and in a matter of days, it turns into "pellets" that look like goat manure. I'm not sure what chemistry happens under full sun and rain, but WOW. It doesn't smell and I've had no problems with bugs. I use the nutrient-rich compost mix in my small urban garden (containers). Now, the assembly. It is time-consuming. It took my teenage son about 2 hours with little assistance. Once properly assembled (make sure ALL screws are in!) it is sturdy and takes in lots of scraps. It becomes somewhat heavy as it gets more stuff in, and when tumbling, it's perfect for upper body and arm exersize! I love the dual chamber feature. I am doing the recommended one side collecting leaves to dry out (and become base for next composting cycle) and the other to collect the vegetable scraps. I'm pleased with the results and think it's worth the money! ... show more

  • Good, but not great!
Color: Orange
First the goods. It was relatively easy to assemble, my thumbs are now numb from holding the what seemed like 80 bolts while i screwed them together. Seems sturdy, turns easy, and seems easy to use. The bads. The air holes are large enough for stuff to fall out, like soy beans were falling out that i put in there after assembly. The doors are way too small which makes placing items into it a chore and I'd assume getting compost out will be a chore as well. And lastly, I seriously dispute the legitimacy of its 43 gallon capacity claim. I have 50 gallon fish tanks and have seen 55 gallon barrels and this is smaller than half of one of those. If I were to guess, the capacity is more closer to 20-30 gallons. This seems tiny for 43!!! ... show more

  • Screw the screws, this tumbler is great
Color: Black
Like many other reviews state, there's a ton of screws and your fingers might be sore by the time you're done putting everything together. Despite the number of screws, I had this put together in an hour or two and found it super easy. The tumbler is sturdy, stays put once set up, has great capacity in both chambers, and the doors make compost removal easy. Overall, this tumbler has been worth the money and effort and has given me great compost so far. ... show more

  • Nice Functionality and Appearance
Color: Black
Relatively easy to assemble. Especially when paying attention to instructions! Got carried away inserting and screwing in 6 side panels. Wondered how to insert flat hex sided internal section divider. Finally read only insert first 3 panels then insert divider and continue. Handy to have a deep Metric #10 socket wrench for tightening all of the many screws & nuts. A person on YouTube described installation as a “2 beers” task, not 6 or 12 pack.” (:>) Instructions were not very “Adult Proof”. Added composting materials to one side and spun. Discovered colored liquid drippings on pavers used for base. Another YouTube video called liquid “compost tea”, very nutritious for potted plantings. Added plastic tub under composter to catch the plantings tea. See photo. Good to re-tighten all screws a few days after assembly. The housing material shrinks very slightly after tightening nuts. Appreciated that some spare screws & nuts are included. Easy to drop on ground when assembling. Overall, this is a great product! ... show more

  • Good design, no issues so far
Color: Black
It is a little tricky to set up with only one person, but overall not too bad. I like to dual chamber design as someone who doesn't create a ton of compost. It is also light weight but sturdy, and easy to rotate. So far I don't have any rust or performance issues.

  • Would give 5 stars but can’t use yet.
Color: Black
I have not added compost or put outside yet because the screw and nuts that hold the long rod to the stand does not tighten, trying to contact seller but they are closed today, Sunday, until Tuesday due to Memorial Day weekend. The nuts don’t tighten on the two outside screws and the caps that are supposed to fit over the spinning rod don’t fit lol. So can’t say much for durability or use because I feel it’s not put together enough to actually use. If I can’t get in touch with customer service Tuesday I’m going to go to hardware store and buy new nuts to fit the two long screws. As for the end caps, I’ll probably superglue them on or use some kind of rubber chair stopped to go over top of the pipe to prevent spiders and small insects from entering. All in all set up was pretty easy and can’t wait to use. It seems like it will turn pretty easily and may hold a nice amount of compost, I think it’s 43 gallons total not 43 gallons of uncomposted material which is a bit of a bummer but I’ll figure it out. ... show more
