Top Amazon Reviews

  • Read/saw reviews before buying. Glad I bought them for my Android phone
For Prime day, some AR glasses popped up on the amazon main page. Then I remember that for awhile I been wanting to get glasses so I can watch videos on the plane. So started looking at deals and found these. Immediately I started looking at reviews online and people seem to like them, and this is when they were 350+. I got them for 280. So I wasnt going to use them with a laptop or a gaming console. I just wanted to plug into my phone and watch Netflix and Crunchyroll on the plane. I have a Samsung Z Flip 6 and when I got the glasses, I plugged them into the phone and immediately they mirrored my phone screen. Looking throught the bottom of the glasses I could see where to tap the phone screen to open the apps. Then I opened crunchyroll and launch a video. All I gotta say is WOW! The microled screens are as good as the OLED computer monitor I have. True black looks great. Then I figured out how to turn up the brightness and I started squinting because it got so bright, so I decided to use level 4 which is less than 50% brightness. Also, they come set to 120hz, but since I wont be gaming, I set them to 60hz using the controls on the temple. Then came the sound. I do have to agree with other reviews that state that the sound is low. Well, the speakers fire to your ears but alot of the sound is lost because of this. BUT playing around, I used my hands to form a "cup" around my ear including the part where the speakers were and it was so loud I had to turn it down. Yes, once you create a "cup around your ears and the speaker, it gets VERY loud. I know I know, I wont be using it like this obviously, but this shows how loud the speakers get. Is unfortunate that they didnt make the glasses with a contraction that you can plug and be able to put the speakers directly into your ear (i have seen them, the oculus quest use these for better sound). Anyways, since I will be using them on the plane, I'll be using noise cancelling headphones, so no big deal. Regarding comfort, the glasses offer some adjustability. You can tilt the temples by carefully pushing the sides up or down. I recommend you watch some youtube reviews so you can do it properly. Also, you can open the nose pads if you carefully push on the pads. I recommend taking the nose pads out (you can slide them out of the glasses) adjust them and put them back on. It will take a few tries but you will be happy after getting them set correctly. Now comes the part with the phone app. Had to go to the Rayneo website and download it. I couldnt find it in the google store. Once i opened it and got it setup, I saw that it had crunchyroll preloaded! Immediately I try to launch it then I realized it just launches the built in web browser and takes you to the curnchy roll page. And let me tell you, the experience was bad. It was slow and laggy. After 30 seconds, I closed the app and never use it again. There are a few things to know when using a phone (samsung in my case). The glasses MIRROR your screen. If you turn off the screen, you also turn off the video feed to the glasses. So to watch videos, I recommend you do 2 things. Go to the settings > device care and set the power levels to "light" instead of normal. This will help with heat on the phone. Also turn off AUTO BRIGHTNESS on the screen settings because you will need to turn the phone screen brightness all the way down. Unfortunately on the z flip, if you close the lid, you loose the video feed. Even if you launch youtube, netflix or crunchyroll on the outside screen, the glasses wont mirror it, so to watch videos I have to keep the phone open. So far so good, but now comes the concern about battery life. Since your phone powers the glasses, your battery will go down pretty quick, so after some research, I bought an USB C adapter that lets you plug an external power source and the glasses at the same time so your phone gets charged while using the glasses. I bought the following one and it works perfectly, just search "B0CYCM63JD" on amazon and it will be LIVIN AR brand adapter. It actually works very well. Reviewers of older units and different brands state the USB C adapters gets hot, but this one did not after watching videos for an hour. Lastly, if you are going to travel, you will need a battery pack. After more research, I found the following 10k mah pack. Is compact and has extremely good reviews online for how fast it charges and how close its rated battery capacity is to its advertised capacity. Just search "B09176JCKZ" and it will be the INIU pack. I am very happy with my purchase since all I needed is a screen to watch movies on the plane. If you are planning on using it to do work on you laptop, I recommend other brands with more features. ... show more

  • These Glasses Are Awesome!
I bought these glasses and an adapter to use with my PS5 and they are perfect! The screen is super clear and detailed and worked out of the box at 1080p 120hz. They are lightweight and comfortable enough to wear for hours with no issue, and the built-in speakers sounded really good and clear I didn’t even bother plugging in earbuds. After adjusting the fit, I didn’t notice any issues with blurriness. If I were to have any complaints, I wish the usb-c cable it came with was longer so I don’t have to be so close to the console. Regardless, these glasses make gaming and watching movies so much more immersive and enjoyable! ... show more

  • Over priced tech
These work exactly as described. Very lightweight and portable. My only complaints are, -the sensor in the middle of the brow and the metal from the nose piece cause a slight but noticeably uncomfortable sting (feels like an electric current grounding to your face). -I feel these are incredibly over priced for what they are. I get it's like having a portable screen everywhere you go but it's just a small display device (w/ poor sound volume decent quality). If it were a smart device in itself I could understand the price. -Image quality is good but it's blurry around the edges and cuts off corners in an unfocused haze. Overall 5* just for being it is what it says it is. ... show more

  • They're okay...
They're okay, but require a few too many things to work on certain devices. The screen is mostly good, but not great. The edges become blurry if not situated right on face, one corner being very difficult. I'd say only buy if you mainly want to use it for a computer or mobile gaming device(such as Steam Deck)and if you are lucky enough to have a phone that can give it power. Other than that, you are going to have to pay more to use this and carry a lot of things with you to make it work. ... show more

  • Basically they tell you what you want to hear but....
So they say it is for people with glasses - they neglect to say you have to send off the lenses they provide to have your prescription to them to make that a thing. They tell you to get the beam to lock the screen and add multiple screens - well that so far is not supported by either my windows pc, mac, or iphone 13. so that 100 bucks for the beam is pretty much a waste. Casting is a joke....will not cast from vudu videos and drops the phone casting every 5 minutes. I am a tech reviewer and this is total and complete junk! and don't get me started on the design of the beam and the interface....glasses look so modern and sleek and then you get a first gen ipod looking device and a graphic interface that looks like a 3rd grader made it for a school project. all around disappointed. so now i have glasses that don't work with my glasses unless i want to spend more money and that is after spending more money on the beam to try and get my phone on there and nope....total waste there as well. So now it looks like i should have got the hub instead of the beam. their marketing and instructions are junk! ... show more

  • Not very good oled glasses
Returned immediately after trying. Thought i was receiving the newest 4 speaker improved item by same company and was disappointed on many levels starting with blurry edges and not being able to see the entire screen. The darkness of the lens also a problem as it did not allow for a precise view of screen instead can see through projected image like a phantom or ghost. I was going to reorder the 4s newer version but am leary now waiting for more reviews . I think they need to include a shade to avoid this problem other manufacturers have solved with lenses which can darken with electrical function. Also was poor fit terrible cloth bag instead of hard case poor sound quality from speakers in earpieces. ... show more
