  • Very reasonable image quality, good first thermal scope
Pattern Name: RifleScope
It's my first thermal scope to use and learn the ropes of night vision. I think this was a huge value given the Amazon Used Price that I got it for, about 1/2 of MSRP. 384 size sensor is about minimum I think, and the advantage of the 25mm objective lens is the decent FoV. The disadvantage of the 25, vs the 35mm lens, is that it's got low base magnification of 1.5 on this model, vs 3x on the 35mm-384 Rattler. Oh well, but then on the 35 you get smaller FoV, so it's all a tradeoff. The digital zoom of course blurs the scene, but it's still kinda useful, more than I thought. AGM makes a fine product. I will likely keep buying their stuff. ... show more

  • Excellent
Pattern Name: RifleScope
I got this to reduce the population of racoons after they kept breaking into my sun room and damaging property. I also bought a major brand night vision scope as well as the Rattler TS25-256 but I ended up keeping this thermal scope (TS25-384), even though it's much more expensive. The scope is worth the extra money. Pros: -Super clear image -Large digital screen allows you to see everything in front of you -Relatively compact (especially since you don't need to hang an IR light on your gun) -Several different modes (white, white hot, etc.) -High level of quality at a relatively cheap price point (relative because thermal is super expensive) -VERY easy to sight in. Shoot a target and just digitally adjust the reticule and you're zeroed! -On board recording to make videos Cons: -The typical 'click and freeze' of thermal units as it recalibrates. I wish they'd get this to work more seamlessly. But this is typical of both night vision and thermal in my experience. -I wish they were lower price!! So these two cons are really all I could come up with. My advice is this. For a much better experience, save up more money and get the TS25-384 instead of the much cheaper TS25-256. It's worth the upgrade for the much better screen quality (sharper image, bigger field of view, higher overall quality). ... show more

  • It's worth the money
Pattern Name: RifleScope
Is it Splinter Cell level thermal? Of course not. Is it a good, entry-level optic? Yes it is. Good quality so far. Others had issues getting previously returned items, but mine seemed to be new (or at least the tape was expertly replaced. :P ) and works like a dream. If you don't have $5-10K on a thermal optic and are looking for something that will help you in the early mornings during deer season, this is it. ... show more

I mounted this on the airbag I use for hog hunting. it works well as long as there is a 10-15 degree difference between animal temperature and ambient temperature. I am waiting for cooler temperatures for a real test of its capabilities

  • Wish I could return
Pattern Name: RifleScope
I didn’t have much time to use this before my return window is apparently closed. So many dislikes with this thermal scope. I will be purchasing a different brand. No sd card only built in memory and a horrible interface to retrieve videos is a bad combination. AGM’s app still does not work. the third party app I got to work after watching videos of other frustrated customers is sub par at best. The scope will randomly refuse to turn on, no matter how many new batteries you try. The battery life is not even close to the short time period described. This is with high quality rechargeables and streamlight batteries. The screen will go white with pink lines across it on a regular basis. I started recording with the scope before I set up the incredibly inconvenient app to download the videos, just to find out everything I recorded would not be able to be downloaded. I’m still not sure why that was. In general I felt like this is a first attempt at something that could be nice but needs a lot of work. ... show more

  • Budget minded workhorse
Pattern Name: RifleScope
Button placement and ease of use is pretty high on this unit. It’s not the most clear or high definition but it’s good enough to ID things to reasonable distance. Only gave four stars bc the battery life is terrible. Get a cheap power bank and rig up an external power source and you’re golden!

  • Great mount and looks great
Pattern Name: RifleScope
How I describe this thermal is its the cheapest GOOD thermal ..sure there are better thermals but this is a good quality thermal ..to me there are 3 classes of thermal ..you have the junk class the budget class and then the "good" thermals which cost a fair bit ..well this is a good one ..I have only good things to say if your looking for a good thermal a somewhat decent price this is as good as it gets ... show more
