For hunting coyotes I wanted a scanner I could ID at 200- 300 yds. After several hours of internet search and videos about thermal scanners I chose the AGM Taipan TM25-384. The team at Outdoor Legacy had several AGM videos comparing different scanners and a few side by side comparisons of different models. The 1st night out about 7:15 a yote came in to my caller however; he didn’t pause long enough for me to get a shot. About 20-30 minutes later a 2nd yote came in about 150 yds out, and he never left. When I 1st scanned the coyote he was at least 200 yds out, I dropped the scanner to my chest and quickly got behind my rifle. I couldn’t be happier with my AGM Taipan the clarity to ID and detect is outstanding. I’ve paired the scanner with my AGM Adder TS50-384 I couldn’t be more pleased with the help and customer service I have received from the team at Outdoor Legacy. If you want a badass thermal for yotes the AGM Adder TS50-384 coupled with the Taipan TM25-384 fills the bill. ... show more

This is my first thermal after lots of online research. I however neglected to realize that its locked into 2.5x zoom AT MINIMUM, and the field of view is holy craps useless unless your searching a wide open field 100m or more. Im no stranger to other scopes and nvg. But I live in S Florida beach suburbs, I was hoping to have this for preparedness and finding small critters like how rats are getting in my house/yard & seeing things my dogs can at night that my nvg may not. The locked in zoom makes it 100% impossible to navigate with. Forget scanning for birds, in my neighborhood if I look around / down the streets i am lucky to find a human size hot spot because the field of view is so so small. Imagine using your hunting rifle scope at 14-20x zoom always. Try finding your "target" with that only with your off eye closed, no help. The good, it works. I can see heat easy. Resolution is good and detection range isn't a problem at all. Saw bats fly by while watching squirrels and a rabbit at about 150m. Just forget anything "close" my yard is 270 ft deep and standing inside that this is too zoomed in to use. If your real rural it may suit you, but even on my bug out location on 2 acres this would be hard to use for surveillance in a without rule of law situation. ... show more
