This bench is made of high strength steel. This was apparent when the first item had been damaged and I tried to fix it, the item was exchanged for a non-damaged one, but trying to bend it back into place was nearly impossible. The assembly took a while but was not difficult, sadly though, some metal spurs were left inside a loop and scratched the inserted rod (seen in picture). The pads cover the scratches. The bench is heavy duty. The adjustable pulley arms have three peg holes which have been drilled through thick steel plates, some of these holes also have burrs which don't allow the pegs to completely seat (this happened with both benches I received). The peg will seat far enough to use the angle, but it only sits about 3/4 of the way into the hole. The pads are consistent with other similar exercise equipment and feel solid and durable. The legs are secured with removable cotter pins and easily fold so the bench can easily slide under a bed or stand against a wall. Having this bench with the resistance bands of 30 lbs or 40 lbs to work my upper body is great. I can also use my free weights and have a padded rest for my elbow for curling, or an incline for sit-ups. This bench is well-suited for a home gym or easily stored and set-up for space efficient homes. It is well-built and durable as well as lightweight and space wise. ... show more

I’m very happy overall with this bench, it is very steady for my 300 pound body and bar with weights. The extra exercises you can do with the resistance band/bar is a great bonus.

    • Solid bench for upper body and core strengthening
TL;DR Solidly built bench with some cool features. For newbs like me, this machine is mainly for chest, arms, and abs. If you have free weights, you’ll be able to expand the exercises you can do (note how many in the images have them). A few notes: the preacher curl pad is too small to really use (other than one arm at a time) and tends to get in the way, some specs are wrong (dimensions of folded bench and the weight of the heavier elastic). — I admit that I’m a beginner, but I want to strength train more, and I don’t like going to the gym to use their machines, so when I saw this bench, I immediately ordered it. It didn’t take me long to put it together by myself, maybe about 30-40 min. It seems well-built, with solid pieces and welds. All the screws and pins (except one) go in without any problems. For the other newbs like me, once I was able to use it, I realized a few things that I didn’t get from just reading the description: this machine (without any other equipment like free weights) is mostly for upper body (chest/arms/shoulders) and core/abs. Yes, you can do some back exercises (like rows), but those are harder with the included 30- and 40-lb (not 45, as claimed in the description) elastic bands. You’ll need lighter hand weights if you’re a beginner to do a more comprehensive upper body workout. You can also do situps, but the preacher curl pad gets in the way, so I’ll probably remove that, since I can do curls just standing up—also, the pad is pretty narrow, so I don’t think I’d use heavy weights that need two hands to hold. Finally, there aren’t any leg exercises you can do on this machine—the bars and pads are there to anchor your legs while you do situps. A few notes about assembly: as someone else mentioned, putting the under-knee bar in will likely scratch it a bit since it’s a tight fit, but the pad goes over it so you won’t see it. I also had a locking pin issue: the instructions say there are 4 total—3 larger (10cm) and 1 smaller (8cm) pins—which I confirmed I had. The problem seems to be that the holes drilled for the final locking pin are too small to insert it. No one else seems to have this problem, so I have no idea how they did it. One last thing: it’s foldable, but the dimensions listed when folded in the product images are wildly incorrect. Without the preacher curl pad and bar in place (as shown in the product image), it’s approx. 9” tall x 18” wide x 49” long, so the footprint is more like 162 sq. in., as opposed to the ridiculous .91 sq. in. claimed. ... show more

    • Sturdy bench, but possibly some quality control issues
The overall feel, weight, and stability of the bench is actually similar to benches in a much more expensive category. The bench is easy to put together, and it has numerous adjustments. The bench angle adjusment is a bit annoying as it's a pull-pin design making quick adjustments between sets impossible. The cantilever design was the main reason I was interested in this bench; however, after assembly, the left side quick adjustment pin fails to fully engage on two holes causing the arm to drop occasionally to the last setting. Trying to do a seated chest fly becomes slightly worrisome because of the hazard. If your cantilever design works as it should, it does provide a decent amount of hypertrophy to finish off chest days! Mixed bag of feelings here.     • I live this bench!
Surprisingly, this is a really awesome add to my home gym. It's really solid and its made with great quality. The instructions were clear and concise, which in return helped cut down in the assembly time. It also doesn't take up too much space, which is highly appreciated. It since using it, I've managed to safely work out muscle groups that I've not been able to work out on other home gym machines. This is by far one of the best pieces of equipment that I own, to date. I genuinely love it. It's my new favorite. This is a must have if you're looking for a nice solid versatile bench!
