This is a vest combining an upper back posture corrector with a more middle than lower back brace. This seemed a good design, so I ordered one for my father. Made by an undisclosed Chinese manufacturer, it is sourced by the marketer Shenzhen Tieqi Motorcycle Maintenance Service Co., Ltd. (China) and sold here under its Eambond trademark. The upper-back posture corrector element has tensionable shoulder straps 2.75" wide over the shoulder, and 1.5" wide under the armpit. The vest uses a knockoff of the BOA Fit system to adjust the tension of the shoulder straps. (The BOA system has ratchet dials to tension two laces of stainless steel strands wrapped in nylon -- this knockoff imitates the BOA's L6 side mount, one-way ratchet dial C.) To increase strap tension, rotate the dials in the only direction the ratchets allow rotation (clockwise when facing you) after making sure they are not popped out but pressed in against your body. To release strap tension pull out the ratchet dials. The tension of the middle-back element of the vest is adjusted by two elastic Velcro-tightening abdominal straps (6" wide). At the time of this writing, the vest is described as "subversive" in a linguistically subversive Sinic-English attempt to describe the before-and-after reshaping (convex to concave) of the back and neck posture aimed by the use of this device -- whilst it is not an English term, it might be inspired by the Latin subvertere, "to turn upside down". Selected according to the sizing table image on this page, the vest barely reaches below my father's navel. The vest rides up as the shoulder-straps tension is increased, unless the lower-chest circumference were significantly larger than the upper-abdominal one. The more the shoulder-strap tension, the more the armpit discomfort, particularly after wearing the vest a while. In my father's opinion, such a discomfort seems less than that always produced by the simple posture correctors he has tried -- this may be related to the presence of a combined middle-back brace. I ordered the "Eambond Adjustable Back Brace and Posture Corrector for Men and Women, Shoulder Straightener, Upper and Lower Full Back Support for Pain Relief - Scoliosis, Hunchback, Hump, Thoracic, Spine Corrector" because I'm a lifelong sloucher and it is high time I do something about it. You may have guessed from the "headline" that I've heard the words "stand up straight" a few times in my life - mostly as a teenager or young adult, and mostly from my mother. I had terrible posture as a kid/teen, but managed to correct that for the most part as I got older. Still, at 50+ I have noticed some recurring back pain that I'm sure has a direct relationship with my tendency to slouch, so when I saw this "posture corrector" I decided to try it. First impression is that this is an awkward piece of... equipment? I wouldn't call it apparel, but it seems strange to refer to a vest or harness as "equipment." There were minimal instructions included in the package - there's a single-sheet of instructions with a series of 4 images which show how to put the vest on and tighten it. I saw that, read it, and still had some trouble the first time. It's not very intuitive. However, once the vest is on, it's not difficult to "use." And by "use" I mean turning the little dials that tighten the apparatus. I like that this can be worn UNDER your clothes. I can't imagine NOT wearing it under something else, really. It's awkward and weird looking, and unless you're at 0.5% body fat, you'll possibly bear a striking resemblance to a freshly spooned cardboard tube of refrigerated dough because of the way the front wraps across the lower section of your rib cage. So yeah, I wear a loose shirt over this when I use it - or if I wear it over a tee, I put a hoodie on over the harness. While being worn, it's difficult to NOT have perfect posture. The device really does force you into an upright position. The knobs to tighten the internal wires (which is what enforces the correct positioning) are easy to use and you can make minor adjustments to each side as necessary. I overtightened prior to taking the dog out walking this past weekend and I had to adjust it - did it without breaking stride, it's that easy. As a whole, I like this item. I mean, it's a product with a singular purpose - to help improve your posture. It's not "fun" or "comfortable" but it isn't "UNcomfortable" either. It's kinda like a retainer. No, you probably don't WANT to wear it, but you should because it works and it will be better for you in the long run. Currently this brace/vest is listed for $19.99 (which includes an additional 30% off the full $29.99 list price), and although my experience with this type of product is limited to, well, to only THIS product, I am unsure if I'm qualified to make a recommendation beyond saying that I am not dissatisfied and will continue using it. ... show more

My wife wanted to try this to see if it help with her chronic back pain. She said it was comfortable to wear and helped a lot with posture. Her biggest complaint was it wasn't long enough. She has an average size torso but prefers her back braces to go from just under her chest to her hips. Most fall short of this requirement and this one did as well. But despite that flaw, she said it did help give her some relief while she was working. It helped her sit up straight in her office chair and when she finished work for the day, she felt a little less back pain. ... show more

From the size chart, I ordered a L. (5'4", 140 lb) Unlike the images, the shoulder belt is a bit short (not adjustable) and the entire product ends up above belly button, so it doesn't provide much lower back support. The back portion has 2 x 3/4" plastic bendable strips , and then 2 short bendable plastic strips on the side. Two knobs on the side pulls the back X shape to help the shoulder blades to stay back (not very forceful and it doesn't hurt like the other brands. It just feels strange to use them since both turn to the same direction and of course, I use them while wearing the back brace, so I'd be turning them in different directions. To release them it's simple, just pull up the buttons, and it's free. To pull them is to press down the buttons and start turning. I would say this is a good light weight back brace for posture / office work. ... show more

I have several back braces and posture correctors. I like that this one does both because sometimes I need to start off with keeping my back from further pain which this helps out with. But then when I go for a walk or need to be sitting at the computer I need the extra strength to hold up the whole back and neck.
