I have a 3-acre farmstead in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia, and I have a LOT of Adirondack chairs sprinkled about the property to take advantage of the mountain views. Some of the chairs are wood, some are made of poly lumber, and some are those cheap polypropylene twenty-dollar big box chairs. The wood ones, although nice, are expensive and seem to start to break down after around 4-5 years depending on the type of wood used, unless re-stained or repainted periodically. The polypropylene chairs can crack and over time they fade and get that white chalky dust on them. I have found the poly lumber chairs to be the best, with a good compromise between longevity, durability, and fade resistance, if they are the newer poly lumber chairs and not the older style HPDE composite ones that have the mealy orange-peel texture. This chair is one of the better composite chairs as it is made from a type of polystyrene, and this type of composite is designed to last 20-years. I am really impressed with the poly lumber on this chair, especially because a couple of months ago I ordered a BLUU brand Adirondack chair and was very disappointed in that model because it is made from 2-layers of hollow number-5 polypropylene resin that is used in big box chairs and yogurt containers (I’ll post a comparison picture). The poly lumber used in this chair, however, is a huge step above that style of chair. It doesn’t have the waxy feel or orange-peel mealy texture that is on so many other brands; it has a wood type texture and feel, but you can tell that it’s not wood. It isn’t quite the quality of my Psilvam brand Adirondack chair that is a bit more expensive than this one, because of the raised faux grain on this chair, but it is more than good enough and feels solid and not hollow. This chair is also a huge step above the cheap plastic Adirondack chairs you can find at big box stores. This chair was very well packaged and the assembly was straightforward, and it comes with everything you need, but to speed up the process, instead of using the supplied hex wrench, I used a ratchet wrench with H5 hex-head. I was also concerned that the bolts would not stay tight over the long term, so I added purple Loctite 222 during the assembly. Although the right armrest has a slide-out beverage holder, it is fairly shallow, so one would need to be careful not to tip over a beverage. I will post a picture with a soda can for size. I have a picture of this grey chair with a Maximu brand ottoman, and the grey color of that one is so close to the grey color of this chair that they look like they were designed as a pair, and they have the same type of faux wood grain. Besides the raised faux wood grain, the only con I can think of is also a plus. It is quite heavy at 36-pounds, so moving it around might be a chore for some folks. But on the flipside, you won’t need to worry about it getting knocked over or blown around during a storm. This is definitely a quality chair that should last many years. ... show more

The material feels cheap and plastic, although I do think it will hold up for a while. They are not very big. The angle at which the chairs position your body is murder on my back, so not very comfortable either. They look nice.

hOmeQomi ASIN: B0BG51F68S CLASSIC LAKE BLUE ADIRONDACK CHAIR manufactured of a plastic type material. There is NO WOOD in the chair. Requiring final assembly taking less than two (2) hours with one person, instructions, tools and hardware included. Major components of SEAT and SEAT BACK are supplied assembled. The other components fit to these two larger pieces. Chair arrives as FLAT PACK with all components included in one package. One side of box can be opened by removing or cutting tape in center. This is start point. Immediately on top the User Information package is visible and reviewed. All components have a single letter sticker identifying the piece. Tools and Hardware are in individual plastic packages with double letter identification. These i matched to main components Page to assure all necessary item’s had been included. There were NO missing items and NO extra hardware. I began assembling the chair after confirming all required items available and sorted. Assembly in my opinion best with two people. For REVIEW, assembly by one person utilizing only tools provided in kit. My total time less than two hours. Consider I was taking pictures additional for this piece. Assembly Instructions are PICTORIAL with numbers to follow on each assembly panel. Most letter stickers face in. Important note- front legs mount outside and rear pieces mount inside the corresponding component. The rear pieces appear as legs but they are not, mounting UP instead of down. The mating piece sits on floor. Found to correct my mistake was no issue. Matching components is putting one lettered piece next to corresponding component as shown in pictorial. ALL HARDWARE worked with no problem. ALL holes pre drilled by Manufacture matched perfectly. No modifications or adjustments of any type required for assembly. Hint - when placing screws into installed nuts, holding components loosely will allow hand tightening. Final tightening is after final assembly of ALL COMPONENTS, with provided Hex Wrench. Phillips Head screws require pressing firmly into screw head to avoid stripping ( rounding ). ALL HARDWARE is left loose until 100% of components have been correctly assembly matched. Final Assembly step for me started with installing drink holder. It could be fully tightened into the recessed pre-installed nut. At this point the final tightening of all screws and bolts begins. This process for me took four (4) 360 degree moves around the chair. Each process started on front left tightening each item to resistance. Turns two/three does not tighten much but allows each hardware item to be adjusted to same level of mild resistance. The final time each bolt was tightened to firm resistance. No need to over tighten as when all hardware firm, the chair is stable. No movement of any components observed. The chair in pictures shown with and without cushion. NOTE - NO CUSHION INCLUDED with kit. One additional assembly note is with one person, I found laying the chair forward being able to support chair back worked for my single person assembly. A lot of the reviews already nailed the good about this chair. It's plastic so wont rot in the rain. Comfortable, includes a cup holder. Well built. It remains to be seen if the bolts are stainless steel. One thing I haven't seen mentioned: assembly. Assembly takes about 30 minutes. It does include the tools necessary. There are not many bolts... like 13 or 14 total? They have an hex head though so prepare to spend time manually tightening. No complaints. Good chair. Better than that plastic molded chairs from the box store and better than the the more expensive wood chairs that require maintenance or they fall apart. ... show more

I got 1 of these to put on the back porch as I was in need of another chair. LOVE this thing. Love the larger arms and the way you sit slopped back and reclined almost. Cup holder if fantastic to help so you are less likely to knock your drink off.
