I'm about to buy my second of these rain gauges thanks to my 1 year old Aussie puppy chewing it up. It lasted two summers and still looked fine and was in the sun all day. What people don't seem to understand with rain gauges is they are not meant to be out in winter weather, plastic or glass. They will break. The water freezes inside and expands, which is probably why it's leaking. Take them inside during the winter and when we're past the freezing weather you can put it back outside. Bought 5 of these to place around the ranch, My 80 year old Dad loves to see how much rain each area receives, then spend hours sharing the results with his coffee/Coors friends. They are easy to place, and easier to read. For the price you can't beat 'em.

This is an affordable rain gauge to use. We sometimes forget to bring ours in during the winter months and they freeze and break, so it is nice to be able to replace without breaking the bank.

At last, an inexpensive rain gauge. The price is right. I hope it is weather resistant and accurate. Installation options are versatile. Very easy to read from a distance. I wish it held a bit more. We sometimes get 6 inches of rain.

I love that the numbers are huge! If I angle it just right, I can see it from my window. I had to dig down to install it because my ground is very hard. Most won't have that issue. I am going to purchase another one for the other side of my property. Then I can compare results from each side.
