I bought and installed this item in March 2019. It has survived and reported all manner of weather since that time. It even "weathered" my poor installation (I've since improved it) and occasional removal, most recently by workers doing tree removal. Most impressively TODAY, for the first time since purchase, I changed the batteries of outdoor unit. Try as I might, I just do not remember ever changing them and indoor readout suggested that I could have waited even longer to change. This weather station is awesome. Very accurate, easy to set-up, everything does what it is suppose to. The display is easy to read, and the auto brightness setting is great, so it dims at night. I would recommend this unit for anyone. It works great.

I needed a weather station with wind speed so I could lower the flag on a flag pole that is LESS than sturdy in very high winds. This is perfect as it shows me the wind speed but also forecasts the weather proves inside and outside temperature and other data. The color screen is especially easy to read and it stands up and doesn't take much space. The receiver does need to be plugged in as it says the batteries are only for backup in case of a power failure. Of course, the sending unit is powered by batteries that will need to be replaced eventually. The only tricky part is to find a place where the sending unit can be mounted to give accurate wind speed readings. ... show more

Excellent product. Very easy to set up and use. The ad is misleading in regard to the display component. It is NOT battery powered. It is AC powered. The batteries are only to save the memory if the unit loses power. Also the display is very bright. Excellent as a night light but if you like your sleeping area totally dark you won't be able to put the display in there. It is always backlit. ... show more

I previously had the Black and White version of this unit which worked fine until a big icicle fell from a power line and broke it. I thought the color display would be cheerful especially in mid-winter! I set-up the unit according to instructions with new batteries but despite a strong wind above 15MPH the indoor unit does not receive the wind speed reading. I have removed and tested the batteries, no joy, visited the trouble shooting page, worthless. I am returning for replacement ... show more
