I just had a chance to put together this Acer scooter, which was pretty straightforward. Stuffing the cables into the down tube was a bit stressful, especially since one connection has exposed, thin wires. Once the cables are in, the next step was pushing the handle bar into the down tube. While installing 2 screws facing the platform was easier, the two screws in the front gave me hard time. No matter how much I pushed the handle bar down, the alignment wasn't 100%. Nevertheless, I was able to screw all 4 of them with some elbow greese. Initially I was worried that the unit was dead, since holding the power button for 3 seconds didn't turn on the screen. This turned out to be a user error, since the unit won't turn on while connected to its charger. Interestingly enough, there's no indicatoin of the charge level on the screen. The only read out is an LED that's on the charger, which is red during charging and green what it's charged. A better solution that gives the user a lot more date about charge level, remaining time/distance would be lot more useful. Once the battery was fully charged, I took it out for a spin. This thing is so much fun! I won't be using it for commuting, but for running errands to the grocery store or bringing a left-behind book to a playdate would be awesome use for this scooter. The height of it makes it difficult for kids to use it, but it's great for high school students and above, in my opinion. The acceleration is smooth and it needs the initial push to be made by the rider before the "gas" could be used. It's not crazy fast, but by no means it's slow. My only beef with the scooter is the tires. They're rubber tires, which don't have any give... therefore, every little bump, crack, etc is transferred directly to the rider through the platform and the handle bar. Although this is fine for short rides and "joy rides", I can't imagine the ride quality for an every day commute. I'll have to do some digging to see if the tires could be replaced with air tires to bring it some comfort. If you're in the market for a basic scooter, give this one a try! ... show more

Wow, what an awesome battery-powered scooter to use for getting some fresh air and as transportation to visit my friends in other areas of the neighborhood! I live in a pretty big development and walking to visit friends in other areas is fine, but sometimes it is time prohibitive. Well not anymore with this scooter! It is relatively lightweight and compact and has plenty of battery life for my needs. I like that it has solid tires that never need to be inflated and a built-in suspension to help absorb the shock of the bumps. I also like that it folds to fit easily in the back of my car for transporting it to a different location. Overall, I could not be happier with this electric scooter, so it earns the top five star rating and recommendation from me for sure! ... show more

A really fun way to get around your neighborhood. Comes in three speeds with a max of 15, I got it to. Going up a hill I didn't get it above 10. The brakes work great and so does the light in the front. The reflectors on the back and around both tires are nice for safety. The battery is easy to charge with the cord included. The scooter is collapsible which has been great for storage in my house. I will say that it is a little heavy but carrying really is no problem. The grips on the handles are high quality and really easy to keep your hands on. As for setting up, you only have to tighten 4 screws which are included. This scooter is a fun way to avoid traffic and get around town. update: After using a few times, my cord will not fit in the charger. It keeps falling out. I can't get a hold of the Acer either. I need a new cord for this scooter. Very disappointing. ... show more
