  • sturdy and beautiful brakcet
Style: Green Brackets
The brackets are very beautiful and bright. They are strong and fits well. It is a very sturdy hardware and is easy to install. No issues with the assembly, Would recommend it!

  • Not bad
It came with everything needed. Pretty easy to install overall. The only issue I ran into was where the 4x4 legs attached. The 4X6 fit neatly into the metal. The 4X4 had a lot more play. When I tightened on of the lag bolts it actually cracked the main support. A small one, but that seemed a bit odd. I was using a rather small wrench and it had just made contact with with the washer. I didn't expect that sort of thing to what feels pretty solid. It seems to be holding and the crack is in an area where it is not compromising strength of the setup. I was able to do pull ups - not clean ones.. swinging all over the place... from the center of the top beam without it falling apart at 250lbs.. so.. there is that. The kids that will use it are far lighter than me. ... show more

  • Strength is suspect
Style: Black Brackets+Hangers
This product is made of an inferior form of pot metal and not steel. Glad they sent two of these when I only need one because the first one cracked like a porcelain plate. Really questioning if this product will support a treated 4"x6"x12' beam it will be carrying and four swings. Would not purchase again. Wish I would have reviewed the other colors of this product which showed this flawed metal failure. ... show more

  • Great buy
Style: Green Brackets
These brackets are the good deal. They are made from heavy duty aluminum, welded well and power coated. The pre-drilled holes are in the right place and the hardware is also substantial. I just built he waingset only by easy steps and swingset works very well. Hope it will last a long time. Thank you. ... show more

  • Strong, well made. Perfect for backyard porch swings.
Style: Green Brackets
I purchased this set of brackets to help me build a stand for a backyard porch swing. My daughter wants me to help her build one in her backyard. When I first considered the idea, I figured I'd buy a pre-made swing and suspend it from a simple stand. At first, I was going to build the stand as a 4-post box design with 2"x6" horizontal stringers and 4"x4" posts at the corners. I'd use a pair of 2x6 beams across the middle of the top to support the swing and people. I was planning to make it wide enough so that it could be free standing. And I'd uses galvanized bolts to keep things together. But, when I saw these brackets, I changed directions. The brackets are strong and made of cast aluminum. Dimensions shown on the website are correct as shown and allow me to use standard dimensional lumber from a local supplier. The brackets weigh about 1450 grams (51 oz/3.2 lbs) I like the use of the aluminum as it won't rust or corrode. The brackets come pre-drilled to accept the supplied screws and washers. It even has an extra layer of material reinforcing the inside wall behind the holes of the 2 leg sections. My guess is to better resist any movements. Like the flexing that will probably be created by my porch swing. It also includes a gusset across the two legs to help stabilize and restrict any flexing. Surviving flexing and movement is one area where a Steel bracket would have an advantage over this aluminum design. So, I'm glad to see these modifications and upgrades. Using the brackets allows me to build a simple but strong A-frame design. The design automatically creates a wide spread of the legs providing a strong support at the base of the "A" shape. To further stiffen my design and help support the Aluminum brackets, I'll add horizontal 2x6 Pieces across the bottom sections of the "A" frame to create a low box that will "Lock" the positions and prevent the legs from opening or moving side to side. I'll add some floorboards to complete the small porch-like look. The added box will also provide some extra weight. The brackets meet the descriptions and images shown on the webpage. I really like what I've received. At the end of the day, they'll help me make a stand that is strong and built to last. And I think it will be less work than my original 4-post concept. I'm probably going to order another set for myself. I would recommend these brackets. ... show more

  • Loose Fit On Treated Lumber / Not As Heavy Gauge / Plenty Strong And Durable For Swingset
Style: Green Brackets
About 2 summers ago I built another A-frame with brackets from another manufacturer so I have something to compare these to. When these came in with my other packages I didn't think they were among the boxes because none were as heavy as I expected. They were. The last pair I got was really heavy and made a clank or clunk sound when moving or bumping them. These make more of a "tink". The metal isn't as heavy gauge as my others. I took one of these new ones out to my existing A-frame to compare. I wanted to slide them all the way on for more pics but I had a hanging hook in the way and didn't want to have to remove it so I'll just have to tell you. These don't fit snug like my others. The top beam on the old ones is really tight, wasn't easily placed. These have a lot of play. Both the old and new have some play in the leg holes. I remember now that I had to loosen some inside bolts on the old to allow the spread for the outside bolts and then tighten the inside. I recommend: -Shims or other to fill the gaps. -Let the top beam sit on the bottom of the bracket top hole before installing the bolts. That is where the weight and force will be during use. -Spread the legs all the way out and install the outer bolts tight before installing the inner bolts. -Seal the gaps to prevent entry of water which would not quickly dry or run off. Construction adhesive wouldn't be a bad idea both for sealing and securing. For a swingset these will be great. If you are considering using these for anything really heavy, as I initially did, you might want to consider something else. Cost? These are slightly cheaper now than my old ones. Good product. Good value. ... show more
