The stairs came on time and perfectly described! There were a couple items in the box that I thought I forgot to put on, but this particular one comes with parts for a couple different applications, so don't panic if you have left over parts, too, lol! Directions were easy to follow and once I got it together I just placed it in the pool so it could fill with water. (I didn't use sand). For us, a 4X4 (I think 24" long) piece of wood was perfect to put under the support arms (that face away from the pool at the bottom of the ladder hand-rails when you are entering the pool, the support arms that you secure to the deck of your pool) because we have weird rails on our above ground pool, so we could only lower them so far. The 4X4 fit perfectly. I secured the wood to the deck, and secured the support arms to the 4X4. Works perfectly for a family of four and has stayed in place and doesn't wobble. Ladder was a great investment for our pool. I've read reviews about folks having problems with ladder floating up. We didn't have that problem at all. Instructions did tell you to fill side with sand. Yes we did need to tilt ladder backward and forward to get sand to fill up. Then continue filling with sand. No need for purchasing special bags to hang on sides. We used an oil funnel to help us add the sand. Rinse ladder off before adding ladder to pool or vacuum sand spillage. ... show more

These stairs were easy to put together and directions were clear. The bottom support is put on with just zip ties which broke after a week. We put stronger zip ties on them and that helped as it lasted for about 3 weeks. Now I have the biggest ones I could find and they seem to be holding. I have had these steps for over a year now. They look great…, that’s the best thing I can about them. With that being said, they are unbelievably flimsy. Parts come off of it all the time. They are assembled using zip ties…..yep, zip ties. Who thought that was a good idea? The hand rails are not secure either, they move about when you’re getting out of the pool. Not stable at all. I do not feel good about older family members going in and out. I would not recommend. Updating my review, I removed a star for such poor customer service. I decided to write the company to see if there was a solution to the steps parts coming off all the time. They wrote back immediately and asked for a copy of my invoice. I took a screen shot, but edited out my payment card info. They are using that as an excuse not to help me. I wasn’t expecting a replacement or money back, just a solution, as I’ve had these for a full season. Their flimsy product must have no solution. ... show more
