My husband is a Parkinson's patient and stroke survivor, he is a fall risk but I still want to let him have as much mobility as he can have safely so we have many regular grab bars in many rooms in our home to let him navigate from room to room but especially between the bedroom and bathroom that way he can keep his dignity and go to the bathroom on his own. A family member has been having increasing difficulty transferring in and out of the wheelchair and to a recliner. I was able to install this pole very easily (and I am NOT usually handy with home projects). It gets 5 stars for ease of installation. So far it has been up several weeks and is stable, even when it has a lot of weight hanging from it. The handle is easy to grasp and hold. I always check for stability before it is used, just because I am a skeptic and a fall would be catastrophic, but so far it has been quite stable and no adjustments have been needed. …everything is crooked or slanted or bent or something. Maybe we’re haunted, whatever. I don’t really blame the Adjustable Floor to Ceiling Safety Pole. It’s an eight foot ceiling, give or take, but two Bs and 2Cs were a couple inches too long and a B and all three Cs were a couple inches too short (or something like that 🫤). It was a “sweet spot” that there was no way to overcome. Two smart people were trying to make it work but the math doesn’t get us there. Too bad. I was really looking forward to this.     • Super easy to install!
This product works great! Installation took less than 10 minutes. Our ceiling was 7' 11" and the pole was easily adjustable to that height. The unit is very stable and provides excellent support getting in and out of the tub. The set-screw ensures that the unit will stay locked at a consistent height with no fear of loosening up. I will likely buy a second one for the bedroom. I definitely recommend the unit. Pointer: watch the assembly video prior to assembling the unit, as it makes things easier to understand. Directions are OK, but I could have used a few pointers on changing the height for shorter ceilings. Again, great product! ... show more
