After receiving 2 of these broken Amazon will not send anymore. So my review consists of receiving a broken unit. My first was only partially broken and went unnoticed until I had completely set up an area for it and tried to use it amongst friends. The heater has 2 settings for heat with 2 separate wire heating elements covered by glass. The lower setting would work but the higher setting started smoking and I noticed that the glass was slightly broken(pictured). They were quick to send me a new heater but after knowing what to look for I saw the second was pretty much completely destroyed. There wasn’t any missing this one as there was glass everywhere. Both times the boxes were in good shape with no signs of damage. I gave it 2 stars because if it actually comes intact the little bit I had using the lower setting was good. It heated up fast and is lightweight and easy to hang. Unfortunately the packaging just isn’t good enough if there’s any mishandling which we all know is a problem. They should probably put fragile or something on the packaging but I didn’t see anything. I’m sending this one back because I have no use for a broken heater and under normal purchase it’s where you would get your money back. I can’t recommend this product if it can’t get to the consumer without breaking. ... show more

We North Texans like our like 3 days of winter we usually get each year. LOL. Typically, I say we have two seasons here: Hot and Hotter. So, when we finally DO get a little cold weather (or even a snow flurry or two), we get real excited-like! We bundle up in our long johns, sweaters and mittens. We turn on the fire place and drink hot chocolate to our hearts' content. That being said, it only seemed natural that we should get some kind of heater for our patio. Obviously, as I mentioned, winter is only a couple of days per year around here, so we didn't have a need to invest in something super heavy duty. When I saw this heat lamp, I had zero hesitation about trying it out. Boy am I glad! It was SUPER easy to hang up. We liked that we didn't have some big propane tank sitting around on the patio getting in the way. Having propane or butane setting around so close to the house always makes me nervous anyway. So, not only is this a space saver, but we don't have to worry about replacing the fuel. We can just turn the lamp on or off and viola, instant heat! There was only one minor thing. I, personally, as a 5'4" woman, wish the pull string were a little longer. I guess it depends on how high up you're hanging your lamp, but I didn't think ours was really that high. Anyway, I just tied a little extra yarn onto the end and now I can reach it to pull just fine. We enjoy being out in the cool evenings, but enjoy it even more now that we have this heat lamp. Very nice high quality heater. There's is no fan. You hang this up. This is electric. Waterproof. This can be used inside or outside. Excellent product for the price. Overall satisfied and happy 😊 Thank you.

We ordered this for my in-laws because they love to have outdoor gatherings year-round. No idea why. Anyway, we live in Central Texas and it does get cold. But typically not below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. We used this outside, in a covered patio area. It helped heat up a small area and kept us warm as long as you were near it. To be fair, their patio is quite large, so in a smaller space it would work even better. No complaints! Just make sure you plug it directly into the outlet and NOT a power strip. -Wife ... show more

Very impressive heat lamp! I tried it out in my office and it cranked out the warmth right away. The reflective dish design spreads an even layer of heat all around it. The pull-cord switch has a very solid actuator. When I give it a firm tug, I can hear and feel the switch latch into place. This is such a reasuring feeling (You really don't want a wimpy switch with all that wattage.). The chain, that is provided, feels plenty strong to do the job for a long time. The carbiners made me nervous. They feel light-weight aluminum. Which is fine for a light static load but, since this gets a few firm tugs every time it's used, I would double them (as pictured) or just upgrade the carabiners. One minor inconvenience was that the sticker on the bottom did not peel off cleanly. Not a big thing, just a pet peeve. ... show more
