I bought this set for the drive spurs. They are very solid and you can’t beat the price. I figured the live center was just a bonus for me since I didn’t need it. The live center however does have a noisy bearing. Don’t get hung up on it for the price.

    • Horrible Bearings, Returned it after 2 minutes
Live center was garbage. As soon as I opened it and spun the center you could feel how rough the bearings were. I figured I would have problems so I put a 2x2 on the lathe and ran it at 1600rpm for 2 minutes. The bearings were extremely loud, even under low pressure, too low to comfortably hold the stock on the spur. After 2 minutes the live center was very warm. I tested with my Delta and Harbor Freight live centers and they were silent and neither warmed up at all. ... show more
