    • Ordering up a half-size solved the width problem with Chucks...
I've finally worked out my issues with Chucks with this pair. I have ordered previous pairs in my regular size (women's 7/men's 5), but they always pinched the sides of my feet. And they don't come in different widths. This time I thought I'd try ordering a half-size larger than my usual shoe size, a 7.5 this time. They may be a teensy bit longer than my other shoes but really, not very much at all, considering I was worried about them looking like clown shoes. :) And the extra half-size seems to have solved the width issue. This pair was completely comfortable even the first time I put them on. The tartan plaid is wonderful, especially paired with the dark laces (though, of course, one can change back to the standard white at any time). Love my Chucks! ... show more

The sneakers are just great! I bought them for myself, I wear size 11 for men, so I took size 11 for myself. When fitting, they turned out to be a little large (by half a size). I've had Converse All Stars most of my life. They never seem to change, or at least, not much. The reds have always been my favorite. They always seem to fit as expected. Just order 1/2 side smaller and they're perfect. Maybe they should just go ahead and change their sizing since the 1/2 side smaller than shown is consistent. Just remember, they on't go in the washer. Hand wash only or they rubber parts will start to separate. Other than that, they're pretty much indestructible. ... show more

Bought these as a gift for my daughter who wanted pale pink converse. After just a couple of weeks of wearing them, they started getting bright pinks on them so I tried to wash them. BIG MISTAKE. They turned this ugly shade of pink:salmon. The logo had smeared and the fabric is now stiff and wrinkled. The material also came away from the sole. I have a show setting on my washer so this did not jump around in my drying. Contacted seller and they would not do anything because it was past 30 days. I guess I’ve learned my lesson! Chuck Taylor Converse are beautiful athletic shoes with a definite firmness in the sole. I have never worn Converse before and I am impressed with the quality and beautiful Bordeaux color. The color is very deep and the style is so "Cool". I have ordered three more pairs. The only discomfort is where my foot was fractured and that discomfort comes with any shoes. These chucks are absolutely beautiful! My only disappointment was the color. I thought they were going to be identical to the ones I saw in Journey's but unfortunately that color is only sold in Jouney's stores and doesn't come in a Hi-Top style. I love this color and I am very happy with my purchase. It's nice to have something different than the white that is such a trend that doesn't really make sense because I live in a muddy, rainy state. I wear a 10 in Nikes, but I ordered a 9 in these which is a 7 in mens. Make sure you pay attention to this detail because I almost ordered a men's 9, which would've been WAY too big, but thanks to another review, I ordered the correct size. ... show more

I usually wear a 10 put in Chucks a 9 1/2 fits perfectly. These converse are very comfortable and wash well. I can even hike a couple hours in them. I have two other pairs. This pair is the brightest but pretty much a true red.
