Picture quality is outstanding and all parts look like a high end product. Mounted under the eves on our ranch type house which is about a 60 x 55 ft rectangle. Photo #1 is of front yard across front of house to our vehicle in the driveway. Photo #2 is from corner of the back yard The light on the garden shed enables color at night. Photos #3 and 4 show the night vision is quite good. I chose to only include photos at night because most all systems produce really good pictures in the daylight. The IR has very good range. Lot is 80 feet wide. The most distant camera is about 60ft away from the NVR. The camera signals must travel through brick facia and 2 and 3 interior walls, around a corner and down a hallway to reach the NVR. Even the remote view Apps are working flawlessly on my Android cell phone and on my Win 10 computer. Outstanding Customer Service! The original NVR unit did fail after 9 months and it was promptly replaced with a new NVR. Contact was made via email and they responded within 12 hours. Even though CS is located in China, perfect English is spoken. All in all, a very pleasant experience. I have had this system since November 2018. I highly recommend Smonet and this NVR System. UPDATE: Feb 2023. The monitor apparently went dead last night. I emailed Customer Service and Vicky responded within 10 hours ! It was determined that the power supply had failed, not the monitor 😅. We absolutely LOVE our home security system. The system comes with a 12 inch monitor and 4 cameras and can take up to 8 cameras. We have not installed our 4th camera yet but will within a week. The 3 cameras that we have installed are working great and were very easy to install and the set up was quick. The pictures on the 12 inch monitor are excellent and very clear. We love that we were able to download the APP to our cell phones and tablets/iPads and are able to view our home anywhere we are. We are extremely pleased that it also records 24-7 and has 2 terabytes recording memory. This system is so great that our church is going to purchase one.     • The system works well, is inexpensive, and is easy to set up
I wanted a system where the cameras are hard wired for power, but wireless for transmission to the base unit. This system works very well and at a low price. I took my time setting it up, and one needs to be a bit handy, but it so far has been plug and play as described with no glitches. The reason for hard wired for power is so that I don't need to access the cameras every few months to recharge them and so that they can be constantly on, so no worries about missing something. The reason for wireless to the base unit is because the cameras are at opposite ends of the protected location. It would be awkward and messy to connect all those wires to a central base unit. The wireless transmission has worked with no problem. Also, I can hide the base unit with no wires identifying its location. Note that the angle of view is much wider side to side than up and down. I have had no issues turning one of the cameras 90 degrees so that I have the proper angle down an alley. It is just sideways on the monitor. I ordered my system with the 12" monitor. For a few extra dollars, the dedicated monitor (the hard drive is in the same housing as the monitor) has been super. It fits right on a shelf. It is very easy to click on the screen so that a single camera image fills the screen. Very convenient to see if it is, say, the delivery guy. A problem. The antenna is on the side of the camera, as opposed to the top. This caused its motion to be impeded by the base, making it impossible to attach it to a wall and angle it 90 degrees to the left. I made a bracket out of 3 1/2" angle irons to overcome this. ... show more

I've had these cameras installed for a week now. They were very easy to set up, have great daytime color and clarity. Night vision is BW but but very good also. I can make out objects clearly about 75 feet away. Wifi range is good. All my cameras are mounted outside on the house and the signal has to penetrate several walls in some cases. No internet connection is required unless you want to access remotely via phone/tablet, etc. I can't comment on longevity or reliability since I have only had them a short time. I had to rely on other reviews for that. Should there be issues in the future I will update my review. Update: Had an issue with the monitor screen going blank. Contacted Customer Support (Jamie). Received prompt friendly response and an easy to install software update that took care of the problem. Smonet's Customer service is excellent! Update.: Five months after original purchase one camera developed a yellow spot in the center of the viewing area. Notified Smonet and they promptly replaced it. No hassle! Have been dealing with 'Jamie'. Great customer support! ... show more

This was my 2nd purchase of this camera system, it is easy to set up and provides clear quality pictures and video. We had like the 1st system so we'll that we purchase a 2nd one. In setting up the 2nd system had a issue with the NVR, contacted Customer service via Facebook and received a prompt response. They help with solving the problem and quickly shipped a replacement.
