First, it works, it really does work, and it genuinely starts moving a surprising amount of air. It's nice aiming the fans towards me and feeling that warm/hot air blowing directly on/at me - really do like that! The fan blades and base feel on the lighter side but also feel solid. I am giving this 5 stars at this point in time, but admit I am concerned about the wires. I ordered this to replace a very old single fan that I've owned for oh, probably 25 years, that finally failed about a year ago. That fan was cast iron base and worked off of hot air rising/convection (far as I know), while this one seems to work off of the heat directly. My old fan had no motor and no wires. When I ordered this, I didn't realize it has little motors and wires connecting it all together - the product pictures don't show this, and in the main description photos, it does show a motor but tbh, I thought that photo was more ... artistic interpretation ... then something actually on the fans. This, of course, is my own misunderstanding because based on the fan I'd owned for so long, I was expecting it to be essentially the same type of fan. My misunderstanding isn't the fault of the seller, but I do think the main product photos should be updated to be much more detailed and show the actual product clearer, show that it has motors and wires. To me, the wires seem thin. The plastic connector on the wires seems flimsy, but it is holding the wires tightly. I am concerned that over time, the heat of my wood burning stove will cause the wires and/or the plastic wire connector to fail. I am concerned that the wires won't last the test of time, although I do think the base and fans themselves should last a long time. Having said all that, should the wires fail, it does look like they would be quite simple for me to replace. The fan does say not to place it on a stove top exceeding 385C (725F). The top of my woodburning stove rarely exceeds 200C/390F ish, so hopefully, the wires are rated to these temperatures. Only time will tell, and if anything changes, I'll be sure to update my review! ... show more

I purchased this for a name brand portable heater that uses the small disposable propane bottles. This blower fits on the dual burner version of the heater perfectly and is somewhat secured to it by the hook that is provided with the blower. It is powered through technology that converts heat into energy that then powers the fans, no batteries or electrical current is needed. The heater works well at producing a decent amount of air flow above the heater, which increases the amount of heat being distributed. The speed of the fans seems to be regulated by the amount of heat being produced beneath it. In the times I have used it, the air circulation was good and I could barely hear it running. My only concern is the exposed wires on the back of the device that present the opportunity to get snagged on things or possibly melted over time from the heat source it is connected to. ... show more

This little dual-blade wood stove fan packs quite the punch. We have a wood stove in our garage, neither I or my boyfriend knew what we were doing when we decided to get one. The first year it was not good, not good at all, the air did not circulate at all, it was only warm by the fire. We might as well have been outside by a fire. Last year I got an oscillating fan that we mounted on the wall, this worked well at getting the air to circulate. But once the fire would dwindle down a little it would blow cold air. As fast as it warmed up it cooled down twice as fast. I was considering one of these little fans last year but did not think they would be very powerful. My grandmother's boyfriend heats his house with old-school wood stoves, swears by these little fans So I listened, he does have more knowledge about using this type of heat. He was not wrong at all. This works great; we do not even need to use the wall-mounted fan at all. This is all we need to the air to move away from the stove. All we had to do was start a fire and sit it on the top of the stove; it started working immediately. This is an excellent value and will save money on your fuel costs. ... show more

    • Neat idea, quiet, very low air flow.

This is a great idea, and yes, the fan is very very quiet, but the amount of airflow is very low, even with a nice hot wood stove. It may help to stir the air a little in a small room, but do not expect it to move air around your house. I cannot feel any air movement beyond a couple feet, so I'm not sure it adds anything to the natural convection of the stove. I've used a box fan on very cold days in the past to help move the heat from my wood stove to the other end of the house. I'll continue doing that, but this little fan is if nothing else, amusing. ... show more

Although this is a review of a free product, I give you my word that my reviews will always be unbiased and truthful. This double fan seems to be very well made. Like others have mentioned, there are exposed wires at the back of the fan. I was a little concerned about them, but it turns out that it wasn't warranted (so far). I tried it out on my woodstove out in my shop, and it moved quite a bit of air. I have no doubt that it will do just fine on my woodstove in my house this winter, or on my Mr. Buddy heater. This fan comes with a little clip that attaches to a Mr Buddy Heater, and it allows the fan to securely clip onto the heater. This will definitely increase the heating ability of the Mr. Buddy. Using it in the yurt. The bricks on top of the stove help hold and radiate heat, but are not as hot as the stove top itself. I'm sure the fan would spin a lot faster if it were directly on the stove, but even on the brick, it spins fast enough to move a noticeable amount of air.
