I've been having a problem with fruit flies in my apartment. I liked these bug traps because you can stick them in your plants and they look cute. They are very sticky and saw quite a number of flies on them in the first few days. Definitely recommend.

These work extremely well. I have a plant that is infested and these have kept the bugs contained for the most part until I can take more permanent fixes. The adhesive is quite sticky so be careful when inserting it to the plant. They're definitely sticky, and they collect fungus gnats nicely for me. The end you insert into the soil could use reinforcement, but until the company adds more material there, a little extra thought will get them in and the paper off.

I noticed a few fungus gnats and ordered these in hopes of combatting the problem before it got too bad. They arrived quickly which I appreciated! There are two different shapes in the package – a leaf and a butterfly. I started with the leaves because they seemed like they would be less fiddly when it came to peeling off the paper backing. If you go slow the paper will come off perfectly. The traps are quite sticky so be cautious placing them in your planters. With my leafy plants I had to be sure not to get the leaves stuck to the adhesive. I found the plastic material to be flimsy and difficult to penetrate the soil so I ended up placing the traps between the pot and the dirt. That’s kept them upright so far. In a previous review someone put one in the opening of a water bottle to catch stray gnats flying around which I thought was a great idea. I’m going to try that as well since I have noticed a few flying around. ... show more

We've had a gnat invasion from a new plant that spread to our other indoor plants. We've been using this to catch the gnats in the plants for a few months now. They work very well for trapping the gnats. We replace them weekly since they become covered with the bugs quickly. This large pack makes it affordable to keep changing them weekly. These are really easy to use and just enough adhesion that they are easily moved from pot to pot. I set them up in the greenhouse before any fungus gnats appear and when an occasional one appears, they are attracted to the trap and get stuck. I find that if you have the traps set up before there is any evidence of gnats, the better it is. And take the other necessary steps to help prevent fungus gnats. Usually don't have a big problem with them...but all it takes is only a few gnats to create a big problem. So get them early as one gnat can lay up to 200 eggs. These things are so sticky that it was hard getting them into the soil because they’d stick to my hand, pulling them out, so it’s a learning curve to get them to work but once you get it they do their job well. If they were made of a stiffer plastic it would be easier to handle and stick into soil. Also if the non-sticky stem was longer it would help my hand not get easily stuck to the glue; there’s only a small space between the two areas. It’s still an easy low cost bug catcher. ... show more
