  • It's a hose
The hose connected well without any leakage and was easy to pull across the lawn for use.

  • Has Some Limitations
I ordered this DayisTools Stainless Steel Garden Hose to keep permanently connected to a spigot near my raised bed vegetable gardens. While there are a lot of things to like about this hose, they are pretty well discussed by other reviewers. I'm going to focus on a few of the negatives. First, although the hose comes with standard 3/4" fittings, the hose itself is significantly smaller. I would say that the diameter of the actual hose is about 3/8". In other words, you are not going to get as much water flow as you would with a larger diameter hose. Second, the listing claims that the hose can handle water up to 150 degrees. That might sound like enough, but if you leave this hose sitting in the sun all day (especially in a hot climate), any water that is inside of the hose is going to get very close to the boiling point. Finally, you need to take care not to crush this hose. Regular rubber or vinyl hoses can get stepped on, run over by cars, etc. If you apply too much pressure to this hose, it will dent and, with enough weight placed on it, get crushed. Like I said, I wanted to focus on some of the negatives of this hose. So long as these factors are not deal breakers for you, this is a pretty nice hose. It has quality fittings, coils up compactly, and is substantially lighter than you might expect for something made of metal. ... show more

  • No leaks, very kink resistant
I'm a big fan of metal hoses for many (but not all) applications. I have found them to be the most durable form of hose in my desert SW location. They are impervious to sun and thorn. They seem to all be made in a very similar way. The one challenge they have (this one included) is that the attachment ends, especially the female end, have very few threads. That said, I've still found them to work well. I hooked this hose up and it worked fine. I put it on a shut off valve and let it sit a bit - no leaks. I once had one that burst when I did that, which I'm guessing is a manufacturing mishap that reveals itself quickly. This one performed fine. My wife especially likes this hose type. She can move a long hose a lot easier. They are very easy to move around. This 25 ft one is really easy for person with low arm strength to move and maneuver. It's also highly resistant to pokey things like mesquite. The only thing I disagree with is driving over these hoses - in my experience, they smush. I wasn't willing to drive over this one as a test. ... show more

  • Very good, flexible and strong garden hose
I use a lot of garden hoses to set up an above-ground automatic watering system for my yard in the Midwest during the warm months, and I was intrigued by two features of this one -- the wide temperature range extending well below freezing (maybe I could avoid tearing down the system each winter?) and the ability to withstand high pressure continuously (in case I forget to turn the water supply off with the nozzle closed on the hose that I use for manual watering as needed, and don't use it again for a week or two). The claimed lighter weight would also be a slight benefit if hauling the hoses in and out of the garage at the beginning and end of the watering season. I tested some of the hose's claims by using it, and then capping the male end and leaving the hose in the yard, under pressure from an outdoor spigot for 48 hrs which included two sunny 90-degree days. There was no sign of leakage, bulging, sun damage, or other symptoms of a stressed hose. Of course that's a short test compared to many seasons of outdoor usage. In particular, I was intrigued by the product's claims of being usable down to -40 degrees F. Does "usable" mean I can leave it outside, mostly full of water, in the cold Midwest winter? I don't know. My practice with other hoses at the end of the season is to drain them, coil them, and leave them in the unheated garage for the winter. It least that way I don't have to worry about the expansion of freezing water weakening or even cracking them. I may try it this winter, but I may not want to take the chance of ruining an otherwise very nice hose. As you can see in the picture, the hose had a moderate size dimple at the male-fitting end due to a too-sharp bend in packaging. I see this in just about every hose I buy at the home-improvement store, and I always worry that this dimple will remain as a permanent weak point or choke point. However, there was no remaining sign of the dimple after draining the hose at the end of the 48-hr test that I described above. My overall impression of the hose was that it has good workmanship. In use, its flexibility was superior to regular PVC-based heavy-duty hoses that I've bought at home-improvement stores. Its size when coiled up is similar to that of PVC hoses. As shipped, the coil is 13x13x5" (664 cu in). I happened to have a couple of backup PVC 50' hoses still in their original coils, and they were 14x14x4" (616 cu in), about the same volume. As for weight, I'd say the hybrid hose is only about 15% lighter than a typical "heavy duty" PVC hose, not 30%. It weighed 6.1 lb, while my backup heavy duty hose was 7.0 lb and the backup light duty hose was 5.1 lb. A hose washer is pre-installed in female end, and the package thoughtfully also includes three spares, which always come in handy. ... show more

  • Non contractable
Size: 50FT Color: Black Blue
I assumed that the hose contracted, but it doesn’t. It just lies there like a dead snake. I am keeping it because I do like the nozzle, but I’m throwing the hose in the trash.

  • Much more than it appears
There isn't a whole lot to this hose - and that's a good thing. Most garden hoses are bulky and take up a lot of space but this hose reminds me of the hand held hose you might find in a shower - it's thin and strong. The hose comes with three spare washers and some teflon tape, for any connections you want to make. Be aware, however, that the handle/extensions on each end of the hose, are screwed onto the end pieces. If you want to hold the hose steady so you can detach a spray head or something, the handle will break loose and you will have to tighten it and try and coax the attachment off. That can be problematic if things are attached with a strong hand. You will probably need a channel-lock pliers or something similar to detach whatever you have put on there. Overall I like this hose - it appears to be strong and when I attached it and pressurized it, it held pressure with no leaks. One caveat, it tangles easily if there is no water pressure on the hose. You don't want to force it to untangle because I can see a situation where you might force a leak, but it untangles easily. Like most things in life, treat it with care and respect and I believe it will last you a long time, and it is easy to coil and move around. It is strong and light. I recommend it. ... show more
