Got this safe upon opening, discovered chipped, paint, bent interior shelf, and the descriptions said, fireproof and waterproof. No freaking way the lock mechanism was plastic would melt quickly, and there was no way it was waterproof. It was simply metal to metal closure on the door and was not a fine machine fit so there’s no way it could be waterproof and that’s why I sent it back, and not really fireproof either that’s why they give you a fireproof bag to go with it. Visually it's beautiful. Works well. The front of the small safe within the safe is a bit wobbly, made out of plastic. There was a dent on the side (not a big deal). This safe was an amazing purchase! It arrived as described and even earlier than expected. It was easy to program after unpackaged and set up in the bedroom. I love the ability to set our own code or use the keys to open. It has an adjustable shelf, places to hang jewelry or keys, a light feature once open, and the alarm does work…we tested it! I don't see how this is waterproof or fireproof. I can see the insight through the cracks on the door when the light inside is on. The metal is thin with no fire resistant insulation so if there was a fire, everything in it would also more than likely burn. The plastic nubs that hold the shelf up, one game broken. The gold parts feel like cheap plastic or thin gold coated metal. Other than all of that. its a nice design. its easy to get into. But I'm having some buyers remorse. ... show more

I bought a smaller safe in April and returned it five days later because I could not set security code. Besides batteries in that safe were outside. This model solves these issues and I can safely use it. It is big and secure, and I will keep it.

The safe works with the keys, but not with the key pad. The instructions are useless; the electronic locking and opening do not work, so you have to use the key. This is a cheap safe that you could probably open with an angle grinder in about 10 minutes. However, if you want to keep items in a safe place, then it is probably better than under your bed, but only marginally ... show more
