  • not really good for underwater applications
The listing implied that you can use this for underwater repairs, but the instructions say you have to clean the area to be glued with alcohol. How you are supposed to clean with alcohol "underwater" is a mystery. I did use this to repair a pool toy (not underwater) and it seamed to work fine. According to the instructions, you have to let the glue dry for 2 minutes before sticking the pieces together - and make sure they are in the right place because you are not going to be able to move them once stuck. This is a lot like a good contact cement. Once dry I inflated the toy and it seemed to hold. So while this may be a good vinyl glue, it doesn't seem to be for underwater use.. ... show more

  • So far so good, well packaged. No leaks
I used this vinyl cement for minor repairs on a inflatable PVC dingy. I had several seams that needed repairs. PVC boats are notorious for coming unglued especially if stored in a hot environment. The real trick to successful pcv vinyl repairs are material cleanliness, prep, temperature and humidity. If the repair area is not immaculately clean and lightly roughed up, the repair won't last. The humidity should not be excessive and the temperature should not be excessive. The cement came well packaged and as advised, the lid was screwed on very tightly. It was also inside of a sealed bag. The brush attached to the lid is handy and the disposable gloves are a plus. This cement worked well and behaved the same as other vinyl cements that I used previously. Only time will tell how long the repair will last. Failed repairs are usually "operator error " and not the fault of the cement. ... show more
