I ordered this 3 oz Marine Adhesive Sealant 4000/4200 Fast Cure UV (White) - Semi-Permanent, Flexible Bond adhesive to seal the rod holders I needed to install on my boat. It is semi-permanent so if I need to swap out rod holders down the road, it won't be impossible to remove them. The directions are a little strange but I've used similar sealant that also looks strikingly similar from a big brand so I knew what to expect beforehand. The most important step is prep since this stuff can be super messy. I like to painter's tape around the area I don't want to get the adhesive on and have some acetone ready to clean up and keep everything tidy looking. It comes with gloves which is great but I'd have a few extra pairs in case you need them. Cure time says 24 hours for a 1/8" bead and a day more for each additional. We normally go fishing on the weekend so I'll use stuff like this on a Monday and that way it gets plenty of time to cure. Overall, I can't tell the difference between this and the big brand's product and the price is fairly reasonable. Happy so far and will update with any issues. ... show more

    • Works just like regular caulk but will work in water!
I was very impressed by this Marine sealant and how well it flowed and the ease with which I was able to work it into the seams of my plumbing. This sealant is more expensive than normal sealant/caulk because you can work with it "below the waterline"; in other words, in the water. I don't have a boat but I do have the occasional joint in my plumbing that I just can't make it dry to work with regular caulk. Regular caulk will just dissipate/dissolve when it contacts water so it can't be used in those joints. For example, I have a drain fitting that has a small leak in the ring holding the drain stopper. I don't really want to disassemble the whole drain assembly and possibly create further leaks below the sink at the lock nut, so I used this marine sealant to fill the joint between the drain fitting and the sink. Let it dry for 24 hours as per directions and the leak is gone. I really liked that this sealant worked and flowed just like regular caulk so a nice smooth transition can be done between the fitting and the adjoining surface. It was easily wiped up to make a good looking joint and it was easily cleaned from the tube and the small tip. Best is that this product comes in a smaller 3 oz. tube so you don't have to buy a lot of this sealant to work on your small jobs. ... show more

    • Strong glue - works with a variety of materials

I got some patio chairs that had these little plastic feet on the metal bars that make up the base of the chair. The feet were just clipped on and shifted a bunch - a few came off. I figured a product named “marine glue” would be ideal for this outdoor application. The glue applied easily and I put a good bead all around where the plastic feet attached. Once dried, the glue was very strong but even had a little flex (which is fine). I sat in one of the chairs and sort of shifted back/forth with my weight in the chair - the behavior that popped the feet off previously. With this glue on the feet, they stayed in place and never shifted. We’ll see about longevity, but for now I’m very satisfied with the adhesion. ... show more

This a slow cure and can run and make a big mess. So use caution and do your prep-work for a professional job. Cleanup is a must while its still wet! Really like how you can use this product above and below waterline!

    • Not worth it
This product is not worth it. Cut the tip off like instructed and followed all directions. The adhesive would not come out of the tip but instead busted out of the bottom. I guess that’s what they send gloves with it because I had to use my hands to apply it. And after all of that the area still leaks. I was hopefully this would work but it did not. ... show more

    • One third of the 3 oz tube was hard!
I love this product. However, I gave it two stars because 1/3 of my 3 oz tube of sealant was rock hard before I even opened it. Luckily, I only needed two ounces of sealant for my use.
