This mattress topper completely exceeded my expectations. Mind you, this is the third topper I’ve purchased in the last two years after the last one completely fell apart for no apparent reason. This topper came in a box and was vacuum sealed in plastic. The memory foam topper was inside the quilter topper. Once they were removed from the plastic, the memory foam started to inflate. After it was fully inflated, I put the memory foam topper on my bed and covered it with the quilted topper. I was very pleased to find that it is indeed made like a deep pocket sheet and did fit my mattress. The quilted topper adds an extra layer of comfort and truly has transformed my bed into a fluffy cloud. The little pockets on the side of the quilted topper are very handy to keep the tv remote secure as well. I have a Sleep Number bed and the original top mattress did not suit me, so I have had a 3 inch foam pad on it for some while, but it just didn't fill the bill. This memory foam mattress arrived yesterday and I had it on my bed within minutes and a few hours later went to bed. Oh my goodness, I LOVE THIS. Why oh why did I wait so long. It is perfect for my tastes and I got the best night's sleep last night on top of this thing. I strongly recommend above the cheaper ones. You pay for what you get. I got this to make my guest room mattress more plush. I recently bought a memory foam mattress for my guest room/tv room, which was way too firm - to the point of being uncomfortable - for me, anyway. I doze in there sometimes and would wake up totally achy and sore. (Everyone has their own comfort likes, so for reference, my actual bed has a 4" memory foam topper with padded cover, which you sink into like a cloud and it hugs you everywhere. I love it.) This padded cover is nicely made, tight stitching, quality thick yet silky-soft fabric and plenty of room in the sides to fit super deep-pocket mattresses. What the idea behind the detachable "side pocket" is makes no sense to me because aren't you going to put a fitted sheet or protector over this? LOL! No matter, the cover is nicely done. Know that perhaps it qualifies as 1", but really, it's just a nicely made super soft, thick gel topper cover. Don't expect it to add a huge amount of extra cushy-ness to the gel topper, which I find to be somewhere in the middle of medium and plush. I think that at 2", you will not get super plush, you need to go thicker. I had my doubts at first, but it turns out that this topper made a huge difference in the comfort of my new mattress, soft and comfortable yet still supportive all in very good ways. I noticed a tremendous difference the very first night I dozed off in there and woke up feeling great, no aches! This topper comes packaged rolled up and already inserted into the pad. I found it very difficult to get it on the bed that way.. My advice: Take the topper out of the cover, lay it out on the bed, straighten it out, then put the padded cover on later. The gel foam expanded fairly quickly, at first there was a ridge down the middle and one end was not straight, I flipped the foam over, with the ridges down, pressed it out and wiggled it around to straighten out the ends and it fluffed and straightened itself out within an hour or so. Then it was easy to put the cover on, nice and smooth, and that evening I was happily lounging in my guest room with my pooch and a good movie. As for the cooling aspect, I noticed a definite difference to "before", I would wake up sweating and hot. If you're looking for sink-in-deep-I have-to-roll-out-of-bed super plush, go thicker. But this gel pad and topper adds a plush level of comfort, yet still supportive without breaking the bank. This has been a win-win all way around. ... show more

wasn’t happy with this mattress topper!! The memory foam pad was okay but it didn’t expand to 3 inches and the down cover was just a cover!! Flat!! For the price I expected a little better. Did decide to return it!! Here’s the description of the product, your basically getting less then a 3 inch memory foam mattress topper and a flat cover for it.     • UPDATED Comfortable, but not for everyday use

This mattress topper is only ok- I did buy two of them, one for our master bedroom and one for our guest bedroom. Although they are pretty comfortable, it is just a foam pad with a thick sheet on top so the foam pad shifts and moves as you do when you sleep. Because of the size and material/texture of the foam, it is very hard to get it back into place/move it around one it is on the bed. Overall I like that the top part can be washed and it is comfortable but I would not buy it again or recommend it- maybe in the guest bedroom where it isn't being used every night. Update- this is not a waterproof mattress cover. Our son was napping in our bed and had an accident and this product was completely ruined. It soaked through all the way to the actual bed mattress. We were able to wash the white cover, but the foam padding is ruined. Not sure how to clean it properly- if possible. There is also a weird indent in the foam from I am assuming where he was laying/the area that got the most wet. With this mishap and as I mentioned in my original comment- the foam slides on the bed. I would NOT buy this product and again and will not be recommending it. ... show more
