I took it out and was a bit surprised by the thin metal construction. Time will tell if it holds up over a couple of years of use, but at 10% of the cost of a comparable size solo stove, it will do. I bought this as a Christmas gift. He put it together in about 30 minutes by himself. It's solid & sturdy. The pit is a nice depth, not shallow. Removable grill top is a nice option for burgers & such. I wanted a lid to keep embers to a minimum because we are using in a residential neighborhood and large open fires aren't the best idea. One thing we plan to do is spray it with a coat of rust resistant outdoor paint before we put it outside. ... show more

Bought because it had a little raised section on the bottom to lift log off the flat surface for additional airflow. The instructions were lacking, for example each section of the bowl has an up and down side, they have sticker but one of mine was off amd I had to guess on because the instructions don't tell you how to tell the difference. It's not until the very end when you realize there's a small hole for the handles and one of mine is now in the wrong place so I had to leave it off. Too much trouble to reassemble. There were a couple of other head scratch moments too during assembly but pay attention and you'll probably get it. Also, find a screwdriver with short handle.
