  • X-Axis sensor failure
ROBO replaced a defective printer with another defective printer. The x-axis sensor on both failed and caused the print head to collide and the printer to vibrate violently. I replaced three key parts and found the problem. The mother board was defective. Perhaps there is something wrong with firmware? I would not recommend this printer. You will have to work out the problems on your own. ... show more

  • overall bad printer
I buy a lot of things on Amazon, however I bought this through the Tech Shop at Co State University Tech shop. Robo seems to have done a good job at not allowing reviews and probably for good reason. This is a Flashforge Guider 2 that has been rebranded with proprietary firmware and software. The company is an educational company, not in the the 3D printer businesses. The firmware is horrible and after three months and one update its now a dust collector. Its suppose to be able to print at 300 Celsius (Carbon-Nylon Fiber) yet the firmware will not allow it to go past 240 Celsius. I have contacted support and it takes weeks for them to get back, if at all, and the techs that responded so far have very little technical knowledge. I have 4 other printers that I print with and use to teach a summer camp for kids. The lessons and plans that come with the printer are great, however those can be purchased separately. It sounds like a great package but Robo 3d has not even submitted profiles to the most popular slicers IE Cura, Ideamaker, PrusaSlicer. I wanted to write a google review but ROBO seems to be good at hiding there address, business' location and actual name. I suspect Robo 3d is a DBA not listing the actual LLC. My suggestion is to purchase the real printer the Flashforge Guider S2 if wanting this model, different firmware and support structure and from what I have seen there profiles are actually in Cura and Prusa. However the profiles in those slicers do not match up with the ROBO 3E Pro. ... show more

  • Don't buy it!
I recently purchased this printer for my middle school library and am very disappointed with my purchase. I received a faulty product and Robo customer service is making me jump through hoops rather than replacing the printer. This printer operates via a touch screen control panel. The printer I received has a frozen/non-responsive panel and there is no other way to set up or control the printer. Upon realizing this defect, I immediately attempted to reach out to customer service, however, the phone number listed on the website kept directing me to what sounded like an answering machine with no recorded message or beep tone – just white noise. After multiple attempts to call throughout the day, I defaulted to the company’s online contact form, and even included a video showing how the touch screen was completely non-responsive. I included my contact number and asked that a representative call me, but instead received an email reply asking me to download the attached firmware update to a usb drive, insert it into the printer, and the update should fix it. It didn’t, which I also videoed and resubmitted. Long story short, this has gone on for over a week now. Multiple emails with new firmware attachments that don’t work and no one calling me (even though I’ve sent my phone number multiple times) or supplying a contact number at which they can be reached. I finally got the number on the website to go through, but was only greeted with a recording asking me to fill out the contact form on the website. They are going out of their way to avoid replacing the product. At the moment, my school has spent $1000 on a printer that it is unclear if students will ever get to use. Do not waste your money with this company or this product! ... show more
