They come with rechargeable batteries (and stickers too for the cars) but you'll need 2x AA for each remote. My nephews had so much fun with these, (and even a 3 yr old who came over was so into them )- part of the challenge is they zip around so fast, coupled with turning pretty quick too, that just driving & knocking into something they'd on occasion pop their own guy out of the car=) so the challenge of the drive and catch with both going so fast , just added to the engagement of that already fun battle of the bumpers. They're a bit loud on the hardwood floor but we finally noticed days later they make a "weeeee" sound when they're ejected from their seat :O Very sturdy little cars, took plenty of knocks and head on collisions with no damage and same with the guy getting ejected time & time again, and re-clicking back into his seat [make sure his arms are up at the steering wheel for the fit if you have trouble the first time]. Really quality units and the box is super nice also, one of the best I've seen like a comic book design really professionally well done- My nephews have played with a lot of RC cars at this point but this was the longest and most frequent I've seen them engaged. My boys love this so much I had to get another one because they did not want to share. They are fairly durable and super fun for all ages. They are easy to control and fairly quiet. They would be a great gift for a child or even a child at heart

It's super fast and took me a little bit to get used to the control of the car in order to have fun with it. I think 2 year old is a little too young for the control but it's fun anyway to play and to watch.

So when i saw these, i had to get them. I figured for sure my nephews would luv them. Well, i took them with when i went to visit family and while they weren't there, well it took no time for the adults to start playing with them. My siblings and I, i will say after a few beers, used up the battery power and i was glad i charged the back ups. We were laughing so much, it was a lot of fun. They may not be as fancy as some RC cars, but for us they felt like motorized versions of Rock'em Sock'em Robots. Well, except for when they get ejected from their car and you hear them say "Weeee". Like i said, lots of fun. Oh and yeah, the kids liked them too ... show more

I ordered this 'cause it looked fun. My bf and I had a great time playing with them. The set up was easy. Two AA batteries are required for each remote, but the cars come with rechargeable batteries. What's nice is they include two sets of rechargeable batteries so you can play with the cars and have a set charging at the same time! The cars light up quite nicely and I like that there are sounds...but they're optional. Honestly, I found the controls tricky since one makes it go side to side and the other goes backward and forward. I just couldn't get it all coordinated and I'm adult. So this could be tricky for kids, especially toddlers. That said...we still had a great time. The bumpers that eject the driver are on the side, so it was kinda hard to hit them. But it was fun trying and when we did get a hit (mostly by accident) it was cause for celebration! lol. We whacked those cars into one another and into some walls and they are holding up just fine. These are fun little cars. Not super easy to be accurate on where they drive, but regular bumper cars have that issues sometimes. lol. Let's chalk it up to realism and just enjoy these little toys.
