Tried this out on my parter as they sat on the couch unaware...... Lifted up one end of the couch a few inches and used soft release button to lower it. It was so easy to use. Just squeeze the handles and half a couch plus partner get lifted. These things are strong. Release is easy. Just push "Slow" lever repeatedly to lower something slowly in small steps. The "Fast" lever is not so reliable, it jammed. but as long as the slow lever works well I'm happy. I wouldn't use the fast lever to lower a heavy object. ... show more

I got these without a specific project in mind. But I've run into plenty of situations where it would be helpful to have another set of hands to help hold something. I got my first chance when I replaced our garbage disposal. The space was cramped and there wasn't enough room under the sink for another person. I used these to hold the disposal up while I attached it to the sink. It was simple to lift with the ratcheted handles and they easily held the weight. I got another chance to use these when I had to move my dryer to get something from behind it. I had one at the bottom front and another at the top back. Alternating cranking them out made it easy to move the heavy dryer with no strain on my back. moving the deer back was not quite as simple, mainly because there was nothing to brace the jacks against. But I improvised with a 2x4 and was able to move it back in place. The only suggestion I have is to improve the "manual" that comes with them. It took a while to figure out which levers do what. Overall, I'm glad I got these and expect to have multiple projects around the house to use them on as it gets warmer out. ... show more

I bought this tool to help me with some home improvement projects, and I'm very impressed with its performance. It's easy to use, sturdy, and versatile. It can lift up to 880 lbs, which is more than enough for all of my needs. It has two modes of descent, slow and fast, which allow me to control the height and alignment of the objects I'm lifting. I've used this tool to help me replace the castors on my 7.5' x 4' workbench and it was great. That workbench cannot be lifted by myself as it is over 200lbs, easy. It saves me a lot of time and effort, especially when I'm working alone. It also saves my back and knees from lifting up heavy objects into place. I am really surprised. This actually is what it is stated to be in its description. I have arthritis in my hands and was not sure I could crank this, it is very easy even on the heaviest object I had to lift. This one object is why i tried this. I like it. I just wish it went up hired. I propped it up on 4 books so it would be to the height I needed, and it was stable and did the job. It held tight and I love the slow release. ... show more

These things finally got put to use tonight while removing the two sections of one of our older, super heavy sliding doors. I was doing it by myself (as usual) and couldn’t quite get one side lifted high enough to clear the track. It was the side that stays stationary but it will actually move when you need to remove it for cleaning. I was able to wedge them under the bottom and lift the door enough to slide it out. It made what would have been a difficult task a much easier one. If you ever have to lift anything awkward and heavy, or MIGHT need to in the future, these things will save your back and your sanity. ... show more

I bought an old HEAVY fireplace insert to use for a heater in my shop. It took three of us to load it on a tilt trailer and had to use a come-along. I was able to slide it off my trailer onto a cart and had to use a come-along then just to slide it off. To put it in place I had to use jack stands and floor jacks to raise it up off my cart to turn it around on the cart in the right direction. Once in place I jacked it up again and rolled the cart out. Long story short, this part anyway, the heater came off the jacks before I could get all my blocks under it and my floor jacks wouldn't go down far enough to get back under. I wasn't planning on using these jacks for something so heavy but decided it would be a good time to put one to the test. It worked great with very little effort! I jacked up one side of the insert with ONE new jack and rolled my floor jack under it. Great product. Great value. ... show more
