  • Good controller, responsive buttons, good joy sticks, not connection issues so far.
Color: Black
This is a good way of playing games on a gamecube, switch, or wii. The controller has a pretty good similar feel to a gamecube wavebird. It has the same dimensions but it does feel a bit cheaper. Regardless of that, there is no channel on the bottom of this like the wavebird. You are able to easily plug this device into your system without much issue. It is pretty much a plug and play for your consoles. I was not able to get this detected on my actual PC though so just be aware of that if you want it more for your PC. The USB receiver is more for the switch than PC. I did not really try much to get it to connect on my PC so it could still work. The battery on this is not too bad. I did leave it over night to charge just to be on the safe side before trying to set it up any further. It is pretty much a plug and play. The pairing is already done to both receivers. I have not tried to plug in both receivers at the same time so I am not sure what would happen if I do. The controller is pretty nice and matches the color of the black gamecube while keeping the form of the wavebird. It is able to connect to the switch for all different types of games and works great for smash brothers. The triggers are durable and I love the feel so far. You can definitely tell the material differenced between this and an original wavebird. There does not feel too much of a weight difference between the original and this one. It has a type c port on the top for charging as needed. When comparing to the wavebird or original controller, the device feels pretty nice. The joystick works great and the buttons are responsive. It does not drift or stick which is nice after playing smash brothers for quite sometime. The buttons are not too bad and look pretty close to the oem ones. The buttons do take time to break in in my opinion. as they were a bit stiff. I am able to press the buttons without issues. You can run the controller while it is being charged as well if you need to which is an added bonus. The type c cable cable provided is okay and nothing too special. I found it charges better on a power brick but it can take a few hours to fully charge. You can use it while it is charging. Overall I do enjoy using this controller. It is nice you can use it with your gamecube, wii, and switch. It is pretty nice and not bad but you can tell it does not have the same quality in terms of feel and material as the n64 controller. The receivers are easy is already paired for the most part but the trouble shooting instructions are straight forward. I like you can play on the retro consoles from afar. ... show more

  • Great Controller!
Color: Black
Overall a great controller to play on the switch, gamecube, or wii. It was very easy to setup using the 2.4GHz Wireless. Very plug and play friendly. The battery life is great and ready to go each time I play. I leave my on the charger to avoid any lapse in usage. The controller uses a type c connector. The buttons are very responsive and the joystick is easy on the thumbs. There is no drift or lack of response time. The quality is good and great for the latest games on your console. Overall, this controller is a great addition to my existing gaming station. ... show more

  • Great* Wavebird Replacement with modern features
Color: Indigo
While I might not be a Smash player, I've always been picky with my controllers and particularly love the Gamecube. For the longest time, I've been looking for a wavebird styled controller with some modern features to really make it usable as a daily controller. With the cancellation of the Panda, this controller promised to scratch that itch for me. PROS: - Size and layout is identical to my OEM wavebirds. Some third-party controllers are either slightly bigger or smaller, and it throws me off. This doesn't have that issue. - Dongles are easy to use. Switching between using this for the Steam Deck and for P2 on the Gamecube is super fast and reliable. - Good feeling buttons and sticks. While they don't feel 100% identical to a broken-in OEM controller, they feel fairly good. The tactile click of the Z-triggers was a bit jarring at first, but I don't mind it. - Modding was better than I thought. Even though I was absolutely fine with how the buttons and all from this controller felt, I had a broken OEM controller laying around, so I swapped around some of the parts. I swapped over the original membranes, buttons, and triggers with little issue. It made the controller feel better overall. - Minimal latency. No noticable lag when using this with my docked Steam Deck, Switch or Gamecube. CONS: - Trigger glitch. I ran into the well-documented L-trigger glitch on Gamecube. While a review here thankfully had the solution linked, the fact that I even had to do this was absurd. The firmware should be made more easily available. - Shell feels a little cheap. While the plastic of the buttons and sticks felt fine even pre-swap, the main shell has a somewhat odd feeling to it. It's hard to properly describe, but it almost feels "ashy" in my hands (compared to the OEM wavebird, which is textured and firm). Some other third party controllers have similar issues, but still. - No wired option. This one is minor, but I really wish I could also use this thing wired. Having 3 modes of input would be super convenient, but the dongles are absolutely fine. Overall, I enjoy this thing. It's an excellent base for light modding and customization, feels good in hand (minus the texture on the shell), and plays well too. I'll keep this post updated in case something happens to it (since some third party controllers are prone to just going wonky; for the price this one goes for, it'd be unacceptable for this to not at least last a few years). Good pickup if you love the feel of wavebirds and want some modern touches. It's no Panda, but it's the closest thing we'll get for now. Which is perfectly fine. ... show more
