  • Quality Product
Size: 1500W
Purchased this product to use in my outdoor tub. I live in PA where the weather gets cold starting in November. On most days I take a cold bath. My target temperature is 50 degrees F. In the summer I add ice to the water, in the winter I need to warm up the water to that temperature. Use the device to heat the water from about 40 F to 50 F. Takes about one hour for this. Have only used for about one month. Has worked consistently every day that it has been needed. ... show more

  • Great heater if kept clean
Size: 1500W
Great heater and feels safe to use (as directed). I will say I thought the heater was defective at first when it didnt heat the water as fast or hot after the first time I used it. Turns out it was the calcium buildup on the inside metal part that was the problem so I sprayed on some vinegar, scrubbed with small brush (be careful metal is sharp!), rinsed and dried and it works like new again. I recommend cleaning it after every use if you have high mineral water like me. ... show more

  • Pretty good but not enough for our pool
Size: 1500W
Definitely works well so far, but for our 8' Intex inflatable pool, it took about 3 days to warm up, and then it was only the top layer of water that got warm. The bottom couple feet were still cold. Could use another heater lower down in the water, but it makes the extension cord so hot with just one, I'm afraid to connect another. So one will have to do, which does help some. A luke warm pool is better than a freezing one, I guess! ... show more

  • Great to have one at the horse barn!
Size: 1500W
2 year update: A must-have at any barn, farm, or ranch. We had a freeze in early 2024, with 60 hours of 17 degrees. I put this in the large horse trough, and it kept the water just warm the whole time. Happy, drinking horses. If you try this, periodically check your trough and make sure the temp isn't too hot if you have a smaller trough. Original review: This thing will warm a trough of water very nicely. I personally don't think I'd leave it on all night unattended, however. This is different from a deicer, use this to warm water to the desired temp. In a trough, mine doesn't get very hot, just good and warm. I accidentally left it on all day once. It was in an old, empty one of those big protein tubs for cattle, maybe 35 gallons or so. Had some nice warm water that was steaming a bit at the end of the day. I think every barn should have at least 1 on hand. ... show more

Failed after 2 months. Plug it in and trips the gfci breaker immediately. Dead short in the unit. Always careful not to submerse too far in water tank…

  • Heather for inflatable pool in the garages for kiddos
Size: 1500W
Hi there, I bought a “ Intex Swim Center Clearview Aquarium Inflatable Pool, 62.5" X 62.5" X 19.5", for Ages 3+” that has a 90 gallon water volume. I have filled with water for 2/3 of it, so I assume about 60 gallons at 40 Fahrenheit approx. In the garage I have approx 60 Fahrenheit and leaving the heather on all time 24/7, I got water reaching about 90-95 Fahrenheit after less than 24h (approx $5 electricity). The 1500w is a good wattage, with a normal 1000w I am afraid you would not be able to heat it up enough to enjoy during winter conditions. I use it with an extension cord rated 1850W, nothing below this rating would be good for the 1500W continuous use for 24h. I have put some insulation material on the bottom of the pool to reduce the heat dispersion on the floor that is quite cold. An insulated cover on top as well to help to reduce the dispersion and save electricity too. Consider an ongoing $2.5 per day (1.5 KWh x12h x 15 cent per KWh in PA) for a maintenance use so if your plan is to leave it always on during winter nights you may end up with about $75 electricity bill increase in a month. It has ground wire but you definitely it is need to have a power socket with a lifesaving differential device or you risk electrocution in case of (rare) malfunction (if there is a differential current between negative and positive, it switch off the power).. Product is solid and well manufactured. overall happy to have it so every other week I put the pool in the garage and my kiddos plays for some hours per day considering the Covid-19 pandemia we are facing at the moment. Other reviews tell that the product last few weeks or months, so I intend to write here should the product fail. Until nothing else is reported please assume the product does its job 12h per day during nights since 10 April 2020. ... show more

  • Used to heat an Above Ground Pool
Size: 1500W
For reference I purchased this product specifically to heat an 8ft x 30-inch pool which holds approximately 650 gallons of water. Being the nerdy engineer that I am, before I purchased I ran the calculations to determine what kind of heat transfer I could expect to see. My calculations indicated that theoretically this heater will raise the temperature of my volume of water about one (1) deg F per hour (0.94 deg F/hr). I have confirmed over the course of several separate days, and nights, that this heater will raise the temperature of my pool 1 deg F per hour while the filter pump is in use. Obviously this is scalable, therefore I hope this review will help some decide if it's worth it, and what to expect and if they may want to purchase more than one. We see temperatures that fluctuate between 50s at night, and 90s during the day, with very occasional rain. Our pool was frequently cooling to around 65 degrees after a few cool days and some rain, but never naturally exceeded 74 degrees over several warm days. This heater has made all the difference. I haven't yet had an opportunity to study the temperature fluctuations after getting the pool up to the desired temperature of 84 degrees F, so it may be necessary to use this heater for a few hours prior to the kids wanting to swim in the afternoon, or possibly running it over night every few days. ... show more
