  • Heats quickly. Nice temperature controller. Easy to Use.
This is a really cleanly designed product. I would definitely suggest getting an immersion heater with a temperature controller because these devises are essentially On or Off. Everything was well packaged and the controller was easy to use and already in Fahrenheit degrees. The plug extension, coming from the controller is lighted and all the cords are very heavy duty and well sealed. I don't know if the temperature controller is advertised as being IP waterproof, but it looks like it might be. I originally purchased this as a backup heater for my chicken watering system. Having the temperature controller and temperature sensor is key to making sure that the immersion heater doesn't run all the time or unnecessarily, as I really only need this to maintain the water temperature above freezing. The heating element has a plastic cage around it, which protects anything that that the element would otherwise come in contact with. If heating a small volume of liquid, there is some small amount of additional heating that takes place after the controller turns off, because of the thermal mass of the element itself. This will probably not be noticeable if you're heating more than 1/2 gallon of water or more. If heating a large volume of water, it may take a fairly significant amount of time. This is simply due to limitations of how much power you can pass through the elements and the size of the heater. At around 1300 W, this will push the limits of a standard 15A household circuit, so make sure that you're not running any high draw devices on the same circuit that you're using this heater on, or use a 20A circuit. ... show more

  • Works great
This GRILLME titanium heater has been a solid addition to my camping gear. It heats up my portable bathtub and 5-gallon buckets of water pretty quickly, just as advertised, and the temperature control is simple to use. I appreciate that it's made of titanium, which gives me peace of mind knowing it won't corrode in the saltwater. The long cord on the temperature probe is also really helpful. The only thing I'd say to watch out for is that you definitely need to make sure the heater is fully submerged before turning it on, as the instructions warn. Overall, it's a reliable and effective heater. If you're looking for something to heat water for camping, this has been working well for me. ... show more

  • Incredible…I would give this more stars if I could!
The media could not be loaded. This is heavy duty and so well made. I cannot even begin to say enough good things about it. I wish I could give this 10 stars. The heater segment itself is 11” long which helps to give more surface area to heat the water much faster. It has a protective layer surrounding the heater to keep it from scalding you. It is rated to heat up to 300 gallons of water. That’s a whole lot of water! The temperature controller allows you to set the temp from 32-212 degrees and shows the current temperature of the water. It is so well made and heavy duty as well. It was so simple to use that I took it out of the box and could easily set it up. I filled my bathtub with 30 gallons of water in order to test how fast it could heat up that much water. Honestly, I was curious how well it would do and boy oh boy was I impressed. Within an hour it had increased the temperature 35 degrees. I started with 69 degree water and in an hour it was up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. I was pretty excited about this unit and the workmanship that clearly went into it. It just truly feels so solid and durable. There is nothing cheap about it. The plug to the heater also lights up in order to draw attention to the fact that it is plugged in and on and to see it even in the dark. I love this feature as so I can know it’s plugged in and working and I don’t accidentally remove the heater from the water before unplugging it. You MUST have this off before taking it out of the water. It is to be completely submerged when on! I give this such high recommendations for anyone needing to heat water. The ability for it to heat it quickly and the span of temp levels you can choose. It is amazing. Absolutely YES you should get this if you are looking for a water heater of this design! My props go out to this company! ... show more

  • Hot water when you need it
This is my favorite immersion water heater. It comes with a connected temperature sensor and a digital read-out where you can select the desired temp. It takes about 20 minutes to get 5 gallons 72 degree tap water up to 130 degrees which I then add to my 130-gallon tub. That typically makes my bath start at about 106 degrees and takes hours to get down to 97 (yes, I take two to three-hour-long soaks). It's not advised that you be in the water with it but I've submerged a 1-gallon bucket and placed it inside that and had the water circulate. I've reheated the water back up to 101. ... show more

  • Good heater.
This immersion heater is well-made and easy to set up. It heats up pretty quickly and gets really hot. I do tell it like it is and I am not influenced to provide feedback that isn't based on facts or my own experience. • Quick heating and easy to use
This immersion heater works exactly as it should. I use it to heat up drums of water for pasteurizing straw for mushroom growing and it works fast. It quickly heats a five-gallon bucket and did a mostly full 55 gallon to temperature in about an hour, maybe a little more. It's super easy to use, and it is really built to withstand a lot as it's for heating salt water. If you need a submersible water heater, this is the one you want. ... show more

  • Good for more than just a fishtank
I used this for heating up water in an outside tub to just sit outside a bit. My impromptu spa worked great, got as hot as I wanted and it was easy - I just dropped the heater in and set it. I will also be using this to ease my cleaning and construction jobs as super-cold water is no where near as useful as warm but not hot. ... show more
