I left a foot of the pad exposed all the way round the pool and it works great to keep grass and weeds from growing around the pool edges. Very easy to work with cut perfectly and very smooth, I have read some other reviews in which the writers were not happy because it was to thin. However, the material is meant to stop anything, such as a rock or root, from coming up from the bottom under the pool's liner and punching a hole in the pool's fool, for this the type of material and size is perfect. It is not meant to be a cushion and it does appear thin; because, it is thin; however, it is not the thickness but rather, the material which is relevant in stopping the pool fool from being punched. If you want a thick cushion or if you believe that only a thick pad will work, than honestly this is not for you. However, if you do understand that it is the type and quality of the material that stops and future damage form occurring then but thus one. ... show more

I wouldn't call this a pad - it is a sheet of felt. I assumed it was going to be a little thicker to help cover any rocks that wound up under the liner but it doesn't. I am hoping it holds true and prevents those rocks from poking through. We have a 24' round pool and the sheet was pretty true to size. I am not sure if it was worth the money quite yet or not as we just put the pool up. It was just a bit challenging to lay this down and then the liner on top of it - it liked to wrinkle up. I would suggest putting duct tape to hold the edges down. ... show more
