There was a heck of a struggle getting it. Very frustrating. But so far what you get is pretty darn good quality relatively tough I wrecked already. Luckily I was only going around 15 mph. I have a gt transio bike that I got it on. I've had it up to 44 mph GPS confirmed. I dont know why there aren't more warnings about how powerful these things are! If you are going under 20 mph you have to be very careful with the throttle or the front end will lift out of control. This is my first ebike. I think the torque is a lot different then a motorcycle. I've riding motorcycles pretty much all my life on and offroad. Right now I got it running on 4 5amp makita batteries. I didn't feel like buying a single 550 dollar battery. 550 seemed the cheapest I could go to get a legitimate 72 volt battery so I decided on tried and true power tool batteries. ... show more

Put the 3000w rear hub motor on my Trek dual sport with a 3000w battery. I didn't bother installing the pedal assist sensor, brake levers, or the brake cables with magnetic sensors. Only connected the color LCD display, throttle, alarm with lock/unlock key fob, and controller to the battery. It has 5 speeds or gears within the hub motor and I've reached 54 mph on flat road and that was only in 4th gear! Customer service is excellent!! PERFECT ebike kit, fast, durable, and feature rich. Knocked off 1 star simply because the torque at low speed is SO much that I believe they could improve it by tweaking the throttle response in the programming.

This motor is scary fast and torque. Compared with my old mid drive system of equal power specs this is much better. Mid drive systems have too many moving parts. This came quickly and was much easier to assemble than my old mid drive system. Be careful and wear your helmet

EDIT: review is updated at one star after the bicycle went wide open throttle while going 10 mph decided to go max and throw me off in an intersection and fly down the street until I chased it down with broken toes the wheel still spinning at max speed and pulled the batteries out, could've very easily ended in my death or caused an vehicle accident. Faulty part was found to be the controller, not the throttle so I contacted seller and was told I can send it back which would be more expensive than buying a new one from them for 200$ I'm not giving a company 200$ with no guarantees that this new controller won't do the same thing. Now I don't even want to ride it as its dangerous and a liability. 600$ paperweight now until I figure out how to ensure that doesn't happen again.. ... show more
