Summer hit in the Pacific Northwest hard and early this year and this AC unit has saved my butt! I have it in the bedroom and the dogs and I are sleeping peacefully! It is probably overpowered for just one room, it gets it super cold in there in no time at all. There are 2 fan speeds, but they are a little on the loud side, but its white noise that I tune out moments after being in the room. Assembly was really easy.     • Made a huge difference
With this heatwave in the northeast, one of our bedrooms was uninhabitable. We were able to easily set this AC up in the room, run the exhaust hose out the window, and make the room cold. It's a lifesaver.

Comes with unit, remote, and window install kit. Easy to operate. Unit looks nice. With the wheels on the base, it's easy to move around where needed. And most importantly, it blows real cold air. It's so hot here in the summer, it's good to have a backup unit in case the A/C or power goes out. (Obviously, you need a generator as well if you lose power!) ... show more

    • Nice Styling, Works Well, Could Be More Efficient
The media could not be loaded. The listing states this is a SEER 7 efficient unit and 7 is not that good. Not Energy Star by any means. Then again most portable units are not too efficient. NOTE: for greater efficiency, use an actual window-mounted unit. They are almost always Energy Star compliant. Than being said, it draws about 9.5 amps or 1150 watts so make sure it is on a circuit with few other large items on it. A big plus is that it does not have a condensate drain to deal with. Both of the others in the video do. This one deals with the water internally, which is really nice. My guess is that it feeds the water to the lower half and evaporates it out the exhaust vent. I like it because it is compact and since it does not stick outside the window, I can use it where my HOA would otherwise have prohibited it. I use portables like this one for emergencies as well. My AC went out at my shop a few weeks back and I used a portable for a few days until the central unit was repaired. I also own a rental house and it would be a back up for that if the AC failed as well. These things happen and now I feel more prepared. ... show more

Works really well to cool my office. Easy to set up and use and the remote is very convenient. I use an aftermarket window vent kit with a heavier duty plastic than what comes in the box, but it comes with everything you need and you don't need to get a separate window kit (that was just my personal preference).
