I have a heavy duty 100' hose from the box store, and it is a bear to move, it is so heavy and does not want to move. I hate that thing. This on the other hand, is super light. It expands when water is in it. It has a very durable protective sheath that in all my wife's dragging it around our pool area, which is concrete pavers, I do not see a single chink in its armour. It is so easy to move around I can't believe the comparison of this one to my big heavy one. There is only 1 flaw that I can see, and that is that if your application requires maximum pressure from your supply (say using a jet spray on your car, or feeding water into the inlet of your boat engine), then this may not work for you as it can't provide the same pressure as my big hose mentioned. For general gardening and home use, this hose is awesome. I will buy another when this one decides to quit. ... show more

Made very well. Obviously will not kink and that is the best part for me. MY CURRENT HOSES I’ve only used the common rubber-like hoses (I realize they aren’t 100% rubber but that’s what I’ll call them). The hoses I have at the moment are much longer than these and I’ve had them maybe four years. They are very tough/thick rubber hoses. Higher quality that most other rubber one’s I’ve seen. One of those just last year got a little hole in it and is spitting water due to it being kinked. It was maybe a 50 ft hose. DESIGN These hoses are thin and very lightweight. They look like any other stainless steel hose I’ve seen. I haven’t had good weather long enough to see, but I imagine they will get very hot when out in the sun since they are metal. So that would be the main con. I noticed that they need to be wound in the same direction as initially. It is hard to put into words. What bugs me with rubber hoses is that when you try to wrap them up in a neat series of loops like you wrap a power-cord, they want to curl a specific direction. These hoses do the exact same thing. Since it is metal and so lightweight, it can do that slithering thing like you might see in a movie when higher pressure water is running through. It’s just funny really. I had it on the concrete when it did so. I don’t know if it would do that in the grass or not. It has a black plastic protective piece that covers the seam between the hose and end connectors. The plastic piece is very thin but still helpful. Since it is slick, it might slip off of a hose hanger. It stayed on mine pretty well. DUABILITY They feel very durable and tough. You can tell they naturally won’t kink which is the main thing that I feel destroys hoses. They are still new for me, so I can’t comment on how long they will last but upon appearance and what I’ve heard of these types of hoses, a very long time. Stainless steel is rust resistant outdoors. You’d have to care for them in the winter like any other hose, I’d say. Overall, I’m happy with it. Other than needing caution with it being hot when in the sun, I’d totally recommend these due to their durability. It is a good investment and more reliable than the rubber ones. ... show more

    • The final hose section in the group I ordered
When you have an orchard with a section of newly-planted trees there are several things you can do to get those trees through a long, hot, and dry, summer. When people think of the Pacific Northwest they think rain. But during the summer it is quite the opposite. Very little manna from the heavens falls upon us. And irrigation of some kind is essential, especially for young plantings. So I use numerous water timers, lots of hoses, and lots of soaker hose sections. I run a main hose from the timer to my first tree, make a ring of soaker hose with a single or double loop, and then need a section of regular hose to get me to the next tree. That is what these hose sections are for. The bridge between trees. I much prefer this method to using sprinklers. Far less evaporation, the water is directed where you want and need it without watering weeds or grasses, and it is a very efficient delivery of water and easily regulated as to how much the plants gets. I like long and less frequent run times to get a very deep watering, encouraging the plant to grow deep roots and make them much more drought resistant. We use these as the start of runs to raised-bed planters as well. But this now is in the orchard where it will stay for three or four years. I think this is the ideal use for them because they do not have a large inside diameter. They are not meant for large-area watering. But they do a great job for the way I use them.     • Well Made and Durable Garden Type Hose
This review is for Garden Hose 12 ft, Stainless Steel Metal Garden Hose with Brass Fittings, Heavy Duty Water Hose 12ft, Kink Free and Flexible, Crush Resistant, Puncture Resistant. This hose has a stainless steel outside cladding similar to flexible shower hose with an inner lining that carries the water. The end connectors are brass and nicely made with strain reliefs to prevent kinking at the ends. Because of the design, the hose is very abrasion resistant and will resist a lot of abuse. There were three extra hose washers included with the hose. I got this to water a small garden area and did not want a very long hose. The faucet is inside and the hose has to go through an outside door. I accidentally closed the door on the hose and there was no damage or cutting of the outside cladding. Overall, I like this hose and believe it willgive a long service life. ... show more
