I have purchased traditional "kinkless" hoses for years. And they kink. Sometimes they even come with aluminum connections that you didn't know was going to fuse to your brass connection! That's all behind me with this expandable 100 foot hose. I've been using it for a few weeks now and it is nothing but incredible. I scored everything except durability because I don't yet know. Warranty is 1 year. But, I can tell you it is much nice than dealing with a tradition rubber hose. It is light weight, it shrinks down to 30 feet maybe? Three whoop-de-dos around the hose hanger and you are done! The pressure definitely is less, but not enough to change any of my needs. I do worry about the hose being permeable since the material included with the hose specifically says "do not drink water from the hose". That said, I water everything I can first before water that ponds or puddles ever get near all the cats or orther animals in my yard. This hose is a joy to use. ... show more

I love the fact that this is so lightweight so easy to use. If you don't leave it out in the sun, it's pretty durable. I bought some before and left them out in the Arizona sun all summer that took a toll but if you just toss them in a patio box. They hold up really well. They come with a wonderful little bag to keep them neat and a sprayer. The sprayers eventually wear out but since I got two or three hoses, I have plenty of sprayers I recommend this product it's so light and has great water pressure and it doesn't leak unless you and Music leave it out in the sun or damage it very good product. ... show more

Overall I like the hose, which is easy to use and store. However, this is the third hose of this type, assuming it is the same manufacturer, and they only lasted less than two years. The problem that has occurred is a leak around the connector to the faucet. After that occurs, I have just discarded them and ordered a new one, as I haven't found another alternative that meet my needs. ... show more

These steel clad hoses are pretty sturdy. I really don't like the look of them, looks like electrical conduit to me. But they don't kink like a traditional material.

I got this to try stainless steel. I've recently been using the expandable hoses, but the elastic seems to give out relatively quickly and I'm tired of buying hoses. This is my first stainless steel hose and I don't think it'll be my last (I need one for my back yard). Pros: *Stainless steel. I was skeptical about a steel hose because I thought it'd be either too unwieldy or heavy to make a good hose, especially one that's a decent length, but I was wrong. This seems to be the best material for hoses. *Durable. The box guarantees durability and I believe it. Unlike my expandable hoses, I can't see anything outside puncturing the hose from things like rubbing against things while using it, mowing over it, or stretching it to its max. *Kink free. Most hoses advertise as kink free, but this hose truly is. I tried to tie it in a knot, but it wouldn't let me. The steel makes it so the hose can't be pinched enough to restrict the water flow. *Easy storage. I thought this might be a hassle to store because I expected it to be heavy and difficult to coil, but it's arguably more flexible than traditional hoses. As you can see in my picture, I was able to get it into a small coil. It might not be quite as small as expandable hoses, but it's far more durable, and much tighter than compared to my old, traditional hoses which required a caddy. *Extras. The hose came with extra rubber washers and thread tape. I'm not sure if you're supposed to use thread tape with a garden hose, but it's always handy to have, as are the extra washers if the included one falls/wears out. Cons: *None, so far. There were no leaks and I was unable to get it to kink, so it passed both of those tests. Granted, it is winter so it will see much more use during the summer. I plan on keeping it outside during the winter to test how ice resistant it actually is and will update the review accordingly. ... show more
