We’ve been looking for effective blackout curtains without breaking the bank. We had a number of conditions: - double layer for effective blackout - back layer ideally not black - back tab style instead of grommet - faux linen look - short and long lengths available We bought these in beige because it was the only color option in both lengths we needed. They’re perfect! On the left are blackout curtains from another brand on Amazon with THOUSANDS of reviews. As you can see, they’re hardly blackout! These curtains are on the right (two panels for a more full look.) The difference between these two brands is insane. These curtains look more expensive than they are, instantly lowered the temp in the room and effectively blocked out light. This is a south facing window at 3pm! We’re going to install some blinds to help with the light bleeding around the edge, but that’s inevitable even with more expensive brands. Highly recommend buying these. You won’t regret it! Photo of texture and color is in direct sunlight. Yes, they have a chemical smell right out of the package. I washed on cold with some detergent and it came right out. Hung dry and it got out most of the deep wrinkles. I will probably try to steam if the rest of the wrinkles don’t fall out on their own. ... show more

I ordered the white backtab curtains and am surprised that the fabric is this good for the price. Because the weight of the fabric is significant, it did take longer to steam out the wrinkles ( about an hour for each panel). I plan to hang these on each side of a sliding door with other backtab curtain panels in the center, in a neutral linen color ( different seller). Tip: Do not take a hot iron to the blackout lining on these or any other blackout curtains or the lining will be ruined. The color is a true white which is also tough to find so I was happy about that. I steamed my panels with a really good steam iron, but it would have been easier and taken less time with a clothing steamer. Only reason I give 4 stars is that one panel has a 1/16 inch drop of oil on it from the factory sewing machine. This should have been caught by quality control. However, I plan to sew some white threads into the spot to camouflage. Overall, I recommend these drapes.🙂 ... show more

These drapes are a steal! The linen look, the weight, the color, I highly recommend these. I would compare them to Pottery Barn but at a fraction of the cost! They are grey on the reverse side, like others have mentioned. I guess if that’s an issue, buy a set of curtain liners and use them. They also arrive quite wrinkled, so be ready with a steamer. Trust me, the 45 minutes steaming will be definitely worth it! I will be ordering more soon when I redecorate my bedroom. ... show more

This will be an honest review to compare them to the similar item from Pottery Barn. At 1/8 the cost, I really have nothing negative to say. The weight on them is about 60% of the Pottery Barn option. They are fully black out. The lining on the back is a medium gray tone, so they look a little silly from the outside looking in. We will likely get blinds as well, so that won’t be an issue down the road. However, the Pottery Barn option is white on the back, which looks more seamless from outside the window. The quality of the linen is great, and the color is perfect. The loops accommodated our 2 inch rod well. I ordered “cream” and “natural” and the colors are very close. Natural just has a very slight light brown undertone. Both are gorgeous. The color in the photo of this review is natural. There was no smell. I am overall very pleased. We put these in our brand new home, and they fit perfectly and look the part. ... show more

I wanted blackout curtains so that people can't see through my front windows at night. It works. With all of the lights on I can't see in. I didn't actually expect it to block out so much light because most say they do but don't really. I ordered curtains way bigger than my windows and installed them higher and wider. The only light that comes through in the brightest part of the day is a tiny bit at the top. That could be fixed with a different type of curtain rod. The style color material & price of these is on point. 2 little issues, the only possible way to hang them is by using all the loops because it’s an odd number so if you try to only hang every other for a different look (pictured as an option), you actually can’t. The second thing, I prefer the blackout curtains that are white on the opposite end, particularly for the viewing pleasure of the people who live accross from me. It is instead gray. While this was a cheap and disappointing detail, especially on a cream colored curtain, my life simply won’t allow me to revisit this issue by starting over, but it does interest me that this detail was not pictured. The material is in fact real linen, and goes well with the rest of my furnishings that include a Linen Flax and Cream colored pottery barn look. Overall from the front it looks elevated and expensive and I liked the absence of grommets on this style so I don’t have one more mismatched metal to throw into my life equation. We bought these for bedroom and living room so they match and found them on a nice sale. ... show more

These curtains are well made with nice fabric. I tried several different faux linen curtains before settling on these. The fabric is soft and the weight helps them hang nicely. They are true blackout curtains but don’t look like typical stiff, ugly blackouts when hanging. Colors are true.

Well, if you don't iron .......you will now! They are very nice looking when you get all the wrinkles out.... I even washed them first and no magic happened....the wrinkles held on for dear life.... So, I don't have an ironing board these days, so, I put them over the bed and ran a small steam iron over them. Wow! They are lovely now.....expensive looking,, and do blackout the early morning sun very well. The beige looks well with light grey walls. ... show more
