Description

Item Package Quantity:10 Ultra Oxy Pots have taken soil aeration to the max. Utilizing the air-pruning method, the revolutionary Ultra Oxy Pot produces robust, non-binding root systems that are impossible to cultivate with any other type of container. The egg-carton-like contours of the Ultra Oxy Pot may look unusual, but this unique feature is actually the key to enhancing the air-pruning technique. The concave or inward pointing cones direct roots into the convex cones which are open at the tips. When the root reaches the opening and is exposed to air, the apical cells at the very tip of the root dehydrate or become air-pruned. Plants respond to air-pruning by generating more roots in the inner root mass to compensate for the loss, which quickly leads to the development of a dense radial root system that will produce healthier, higher yielding plants. Better roots mean bigger fruits!Ultra Oxy Pots are constructed of durable recycled ♻ HDPE, and can be reused for many grow cycles. Unique design also reduces transplanting shock and improves success!

  • Cheap knock-off and it shows
Item Package Quantity: 5
I got the name brand air-pots at the same time, and there's no contest. These Ultra Oxy pots have thinner, flimsier plastic. In some places the plastic was missing altogether due to poor quality molding. The top row is not closed so water drains right out the top holes, making a dirty mess. Where the holes are supposed to be, there are inward-facing plastic burrs covering most of the hole. The roots would not continue outward like on the air pot. I had to spend a lot of time with a drill opening all the holes and even then, it looks pretty ugly. The retainer screws are just regular threads and they strip out the holes easily when installed. The air-pot clips have giant threads- they hold much better. I'll be ordering the air-pots unless these guys can improve their molding. ... show more

  • Just as good as the more expensive air-pots
Item Package Quantity: 10
Been using air-pots for years, have quite a few in several different sizes, and needed a few more in the larger size. Now some competition has entered the market and other products looked promising. I chose these in the 7.5 gal equivalent size because I was interested in developing deeper roots for eventual transplant into the ground. These looked really appealing and I'm glad I chose this one. The 16" height is just what I wanted. They arrived today and they look just as good as the ones I had that cost nearly twice as much. Also, they were a bit easier to put together. My only complaint is that they should have a couple of solid rows (without the holes) which I wanted for the top. There are holes all the way through, which was a little disappointing. With a couple of solid rows at the top, watering is more efficient. Before I buy more, I will contact the seller to see if they have any of those type in stock or if a special order is possible (they are illustrated that way in the instruction booklet). I do like this particular feature which is available in other brands of air-pots. I hope that this manufacturer will incorporate the feature of having two solid rows on one side for all sizes of post. Then they would be perfect! Overall, very satisfied. ... show more

  • Produces BIGGER, healthier plants!
Item Package Quantity: 5
This planter is truly impressive. This 7.5 gallon pot holds the equivalent soil of an average 5 gallon pot. The pot screws together on the sides and comes with a round, plastic bottom with holes cut in it for irrigation. This pot allows the plant roots to grow and not become "root bound" in the bottom of the pot. I started with some fabric pots and added these with tomatoes and pepper plants planted in each. The tomato and pepper plants that I out in these pots are twice the size of the plants I put in the fabric pots. So, they truly do seem to make a difference in the size and health of the plant. They are constructed of a heavy duty plastic and the screws that hold them together are large, plastic screws. These pots are durable enough to be used year after year. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but when you consider that they can be used again and that the plants are more healthy, I think that makes the price worth it. I will only buy these pots from now on. Try them you will not be sorry! ... show more

  • Ultra Oxy Pot is a win win!
Item Package Quantity: 1
Great pot. I have a competitors "Airpot" and the Ultra Oxy Pot. They both grow great plants with phenomenal roots and the growth is 25% better over my fabric pots. The win for me is the Ultra Oxy Pot is 50% cheaper than the competitors plastic air prune pot. Wait, what? What's the catch? Okay, the Ultra Oxy Pot is a little thinner than the competitors but once filled with soil and plant is planted, it doesn't matter! I will continue to buy these over the competitors pots from now on. ... show more

  • They MELT in the sun
Item Package Quantity: 5
The media could not be loaded. Originally I gave these a 5 star. They are much cheaper than the Root Trainers or Air pots. I have ordered I think, 40 of these Oxy's. I liked them a lot when using them this spring. They were easy to put together and didn't leak when watering the plants. Now its summer, I placed another order and when they came, I couldn't get the screws to screw in. The holes in the container were too small. I left them next to the shade canopies in the morning, so that the holes would soften a little so I could get the screws to work. I came out later in the day, and the containers had MELTED in the sun. Not minor melting.....big time melting.....all the holes had sealed themselves shut and as you can see in the picture, the entire container is melted and warped and cannot be used. I am just really upset. I cannot recommend these containers at all. I have left the Root Trainers and Air Pots in the sun, going on the 8th year now, never had a problem with them. I guess you get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Think Twice!
Item Package Quantity: 5
I have been a winter indoor gardener for 10 years. My focus is on reducing my costs while improving the quality of my produce. I have not focused on “speed or clone/seed to harvest time. These pots do not fit my model. They work as advertised and as noted by other reviewers. They don’t work better than a plain old felt bag (sold here on Amazon) for 1/5 the cost. In addition they are extremely difficult to move due to their design. No handles, hard plastic, and they simply do not convey a sense of robustness. They are far less sturdy than a felt bag or a simple 5 gallon bucket. ... show more

  • Great quality! Best price!
Item Package Quantity: 5
Fast shipping. Personally I found the thickness of the plastic perfect. Thick enough they feel sturdy, but thin enough to still be flexable. The bottom is high pressure mold plastic, and I can see why people have had small soil leaks with these pots. But I lined the bottom with screen and that did the trick. The screws it comes with are plastic and do the job, but a $1.50 upgrade at the hardware store will make it better. But the price makes it even better. Will definitely buy more. ... show more

  • My plants are happy
Item Package Quantity: 5
My plants haven't gotten large enough yet to see roots coming through the pores, but I like these better than some fabric bags I've tried, which can trap excess water to the detriment of the plants. I only gave 4 stars for sturdiness because I don't know how long these will last as I move plants around to take advantage of sunlight in a shaded yard. Instructions weren't the best, so it took a try or two to get the first one assembled, but after that each one only took a couple of minutes to finish. ... show more
